Good Morning all! sunshine

Butternut Fri 29-Jun-12 07:12:50

Unfortunately, Mamie, it was a Wimbledon run-over! The prog. is going to show on Sunday (I think - better check that out).

Mamie Fri 29-Jun-12 07:15:32

Oh good - it was the only thing on all week that we wanted to record!

Bez Fri 29-Jun-12 07:19:58

I cannot get the iPlayer either but I have seen on the ex -pat forum that you can download some other program that will allow you to see it - will try and find out more about it.

Mamie Fri 29-Jun-12 08:09:32

I think you would still need the bandwidth though Bez. 512k doesn't do much (apart from cost 35€ a month). sad

nanaej Fri 29-Jun-12 08:14:12

OMG...very large lorry reversing into front garden with tons (literally ) of stuff for new paving /patio. Looks like a very tight squeeze!! shock

Annika Wed 15-Aug-12 03:58:09

Its about 3.52 in the morning and still no sleep (again), how on earth can anyone feel so tired and not sleep.
So many thoughts running around my head I think sleep hasn't a chance of happening sad

moving Wed 15-Aug-12 04:06:39

Good morning!

Annika Wed 15-Aug-12 04:17:11

Morning moving why are you up at this silly hour grin

Gally Wed 15-Aug-12 05:24:00

Annika and moving shock My day is half over - nearly time to go and fetch the gc's from school and then onto a birthday party for twins. Hope you both managed to get some sleep eventually? smile

Ariadne Wed 15-Aug-12 05:24:39

Morning, movingand Annika! One of my "couldn't get back to sleep" days; it is really warm here, even with the bedroom windows wide open, so I gave up and am having a cup of coffee. The alarm used to go at 5.15 when we were working, but I don't mind this too much. Good excuse for a little toes up this afternoon!

Bags Wed 15-Aug-12 05:30:38

Morning all! DD's first day at her new school today so I woke up early (even for me). Nice to have time to coffee up before she starts flapping around with excitment smile

Hey guys. Enjoy being in Australia Gally . My lot are planning to move back to Perth - feeling a bit sad not to be coming to Manly any more. I have happy memories of times with the kids there.
I have a really busy week - bits of paid work which is nice, a list of unpaid worky things as well, holiday tasks , birthdays and I am hatching a plot to take myself to Wales for the weekend, as DH looking after MIL.
Which means i need a blast at the tasks before I go out to do interviewing at 10.
Didn't really need to wake up at 4.30 though. But, well, I must make the most of it.

Gally Wed 15-Aug-12 05:44:24

Good luck to bags junior at her new school grin

Bags Wed 15-Aug-12 05:51:32

Thank you, gally smile She couldn't get to sleep last night with all the excitement. She loved the 'taster' days in June, and has a nice sixth year 'buddy'.

glassortwo Wed 15-Aug-12 08:12:49

Good morning everyone, I hope you all managed to get done all the jobs that woke you up so early, and gally enjoyed the party. I was awake at that unearthly hour as DH has an ear infection and was in pain so I was busy play nurse, not a role that I take on easily in fact I do it really badly. hmm

I hope Miss Bags enjoys her first day at the new school sunshine I always forget the schools go back earlier in Scotland.

I am picking the two little DGC up and along with their Mum and the middle two DGC we are all heading off to the park once the fog has lifted. So by 4 this afternoon I will be on my knees.

jeni Wed 15-Aug-12 08:19:37

Morning. Off to welsh Wales today. Hence uncivilised hour!
Have good day folks.

glassortwo Wed 15-Aug-12 08:23:30

Have a good day jeni sunshine

Ella46 Wed 15-Aug-12 08:32:01

Morning all, I'm off to visit a friend who has broken her foot, and twisted badly her other knee, when she fell at the bottom of the stairs!

Her OH and family are very selfish and are not being helpful at all. angry
Partly her own fault as she runs round after them most of the time!

I have to do a lot of lip biting when I'm with her grin not easy for me

Annobel Wed 15-Aug-12 08:34:16

Annika - I am your opposite: I sleep like a log and wake up still tired. At the moment I have 'sleepy' eyes because of the prolonged pollen season - the longest for 20 years, so they tell us on the news. I start coughing and snuffling as soon as I put my head out of doors. It starts for me in the early spring with hazel and willow catkins spreading pollen, so I feel unusually hard done by. sad

AlieOxon Wed 15-Aug-12 09:21:22

Hi everyone. I woke at the reasonable time of 7.30 - but with a very bad dream about my sister...still puzzling about this, as I was pleased last night to get an email that she is visiting next week...

Off to Oxford today to support DD J in a probable complaint about her GP. I suspect she will not be the only one complaining as others have said things about said GP.
J's back is still bad and on Friday she was refused another sick note as the GP seems to think she is not in pain and tired all the time - she still has difficulty sitting for more than a few minutes. (Seeing another of the practice, as she has finally managed to get an appt!)
She won't get any money this week, has GS to look after - and his father hasn't come up with the money for school uniform at his new school yet.
Not surprisingly, she's depressed.

Got a text that my gardener could come today and had to put him off!

Bags Wed 15-Aug-12 10:53:16

Interested in what you say about the long pollen season, anno. I'm usually affected for about eight or nine months of the year. Is that usual with you? Am I going to be affected for even longer this year?

Bags Wed 15-Aug-12 10:53:55

alie, pity your gardener can't work while you're out.

Annobel Wed 15-Aug-12 11:31:43

Bags, I am usually affected from about February onwards, to a greater or lesser extent. The news today said that the allergy season is still going strong which I could have told them anyway. Don't know when it's expected to stop.

Bags Wed 15-Aug-12 12:21:25

Hay-making is still going on up here so it won't be over soon. I can usually stop taking anti-histamines by the school break in mid-October and, like you, start again in February.

soop Wed 15-Aug-12 12:28:08

Bags Very best wishes to your daughter. An exciting new chapter in her life. sunshine

I couldn't understand why it is that my throat feels so sore, nose snuffy and chest feels tight. I did ask Mr soop if it could be due to pollen. He thought not.
