numberplease Thu 28-Jun-12 18:09:49

Soop, I`m sure that Charlie`s portrait will be fantastic, Pepper`s is!

nanaej Thu 28-Jun-12 17:54:11

glammanana Thu 28-Jun-12 11:34:11

nanaej oh how you have inspired me to get off here and make the move to do some spring cleaning,I have been threatening to it since Monday but have kept putting it off so thanks for the inspiration.flowers

soop Thu 28-Jun-12 11:12:33

nanaej...positive thinking! Well done! flowers

Have just received a lovely letter and book from Gally together with photos of her dog, Charlie. I shall now be looking forward to painting his portrait...just as soon as I'm able. Thank you, Gally...have a happy trip. sunshine

Feeling good as I made myself clean the house! Kitchen, bathroom , shower and loos all sparking, vacuuming and floor washing done plus a flick or two with the duster.. wish I was going off for a rewarding lunch..but instead off to see about a temporary job!

Ariadne Thu 28-Jun-12 10:56:38

Been in the garden since 9.00, cutting things back mainly. There's now a pile of branches etc and I've run out of garden sacks so will have to go to the garden centre (no, lovely GNs, not enough garden for composting - no flower beds here. Clay on chalk makes for beautiful roses, though!)

Anyway, it's a nice centre so a little shopping there won't go amiss.

soop Thu 28-Jun-12 10:50:56

Bags smile A very important day for your lovely daughter. sunshine

glammanana Thu 28-Jun-12 10:50:41

bags how quickly they grow up your DD will blossom before your eyes over the next few years and will make friends that will last all her life,we have this next year when Abigail goes to big school.smile

Ella46 Thu 28-Jun-12 10:10:05

Bags sunshine they grow up so quickly don't they?

Bags Thu 28-Jun-12 10:07:10

GG, she's looking forward to making new friends from some of the other feed-in schools, and to seeing her older primary school pals who will be the new second years. All positive so far — gotta be good! smile It must be difficult if your child is not looking forward to the move.

Bags Thu 28-Jun-12 10:04:44

Yes, she's very excited and happy about it. She has had a wonderful primary school experience at a fabulous child-centred school. Hope the secondary is as good; only heard good about it from people whose kids are already there smile.
DD thoroughly enjoyed the two induction days all the new first years had a couple of weeks ago and is raring to go! They all have a Sixth Year Buddy to help them through any settling in hiccups.

Final prize-giving tomorrow.

GoldenGran Thu 28-Jun-12 09:57:49

A big moment in her life Bags, teenage years ahead. It can be a bit scary out there when you go from being the biggest to the youngest in a school. Is she going to be with her friends ?

glassortwo Thu 28-Jun-12 09:56:55

bags is she excited to be moving on? I still remember my two moving up from Primary it seemed over the summer holidays they changed from children into young adults.

Bags Thu 28-Jun-12 09:50:23

DD's penultimate day at primary school today.

Annobel Thu 28-Jun-12 08:57:55

The sun has gone again and the paving looks damp. It's been a humid night - I threw off the duvet for the first time this year! I must finish my brew and take myself to the CAB, though I am beginning to feel I have been doing it for long enough. But what would I do on Thursdays if I quit? Rhetorical question.

Mamie Thu 28-Jun-12 08:40:58

Dreadfully humid - have tried half an hour weeding and now slunk back inside. Later will be trying to spot my cousin at the ceremony for the Bomber Command memorial; her brother died in 1943.

jeni Thu 28-Jun-12 08:21:50

It's misty, but the sun is trying to break through!

nanaej Thu 28-Jun-12 08:05:57

Good idea glass I think I will do just that!

glassortwo Thu 28-Jun-12 07:56:19

Morning Ella enjoy your play with GD today, well got to dash and get sorted for school, well the second cup of tea will have to wait until after school drop. sunshine
