In bed, in pain, waiting for the doctor to call. sad I need to be back on my feet for son's wedding on Saturday, so hoping that fast working antibiotics will do the trick! shock

DD & DGC having a long lie this morning, this is a first smile

Ariadne Mon 05-Nov-12 06:54:24

Good morning, everyone! Had a lovely, family weekend, with DS and new family arriving to inspect our new home, the DD and family coming over to see them, and having a huge "picnic" because our new dining table hasn't arrived yet. (Very small people had room at the kitchen table) I now know I can accommodate at least 10 people with ease.

It was SO lovely to see this house in family action, if you see what I mean. Loved the chaos and noise and, as we all say, the peace today!

I'll be taking my spade for a ride on a bus later. Going to dig holes for schoolkids in a nearby village to plant daffodil bulbs in.

baubles Mon 05-Nov-12 05:53:18

How is everyone this Monday morning? Another week already! I'm off to visit DD and see how the little ones are. I hope you all have a good day sunshine

soop Fri 02-Nov-12 12:50:09

May I join in, Baubles...[grinn]

Bags Fri 02-Nov-12 08:32:50

Hope it goes well, baubles! Sounds like fun smile

Morning all smile. I've spent a chunk of my working week making up team challenges (based around customer service) and will roll it out this morning at our weekly staff meeting. A high % are fairly young and have grown up with Harry Potter, the rest have children of their own who all enjoyed HP. With this in mind I've used a Hogwarts Houses theme for the four teams. I do hope they like it.

Hopefully you'll be there just about there now, Gally, and that you had a good trip down. smile

grannyactivist Thu 01-Nov-12 14:04:32

Gally I sympathise; I'm currently in the midst of reorganizing most of my furniture in order to accommodate the newly weds when they return from their honeymoon. They'll be taking over the top floor of the house and a great deal of my furniture!!
However, I can't complain because my in-laws did the same for us when we moved into the top floor of their house several years after we married - along with our children and the au-pair! We spent a year living with them and I loved every minute of it and truly appreciated their efforts. As I'm sure your offspring will. grin
Safe travel and enjoy your stay.

soop Thu 01-Nov-12 11:49:49

Enjoy your trip, Gally sunshine

Grannylin Thu 01-Nov-12 08:05:55

I can vouch for your great hospitality Gally.Have a good trip there and back flowers

Oldgreymare Thu 01-Nov-12 07:37:00

... and from me too Gally... I know exactly what you mean by beds! Spent years cosied up to the OG on a very uncomfortable sofa bed when I was used to sleeping in splendid isolation in my own boudoir! shock
I also supply large fluffy bath towels for DS, DIL, and 2GC... but have to take my own when I visit! hmm

Bags Thu 01-Nov-12 07:19:26

Safe journey, gally smile

Gally Thu 01-Nov-12 06:52:59

Thanks Baubles. I've been awake since before 5 but putting off getting up and organised! Will leave after the traffic instead of before!

baubles Thu 01-Nov-12 05:26:20

Have a good trip Gally I hope you're feeling more like it today.

harrigran Wed 31-Oct-12 18:16:20

Round of applause for your son ga nice wedding gift smile

soop Wed 31-Oct-12 11:32:20

grannyactivist I'm well-chuffed! Super news! grin

annodomini Wed 31-Oct-12 10:27:49

Marelli - thank goodness I'm not the only one.... grin.
Gally - very sensible decision - don't drive if you don't feel up to it. So dangerous for you - and other drivers! I have given up long-distance driving and 'let the train take the strain'. Now for the challenge of buying Christmas presents small enough to go in a suitcase and leave room for my clothes. grin

Gally Wed 31-Oct-12 10:01:57

Marelli - shame on you wink
I've been shifting beds/cots around this morning - ooh sore back now. When I stay with my daughters I sleep on a put-u-up in the kids room or on a very uncomfortable sofabed in the 'hallway' but when they come here they want their'own room back and their children in a separate one; I should just shove them all in together and let them get on with it, but once a mummy always a mummy and I'm just too soft confused I'm supposed to be driving south today, but I was so tired that I've put it off until tomorrow so hoping for a good night's sleep tonight after only 4 hours last night .....

Marelli Wed 31-Oct-12 09:45:01

What good news, grannyactivist - well done to your son!
Good morning to you too,*baubles*! I'm sitting here still in my dressing gown with my cereal bowl at my side. This is my usual morning routine: I log on, check emails, check online banking, have wee keek at Facebook, then, having kept the best till last, I start on Gransnet [wiink]. That's why, after an hour, I'm still here looking like a midden and needing to make a move! grin

annodomini Wed 31-Oct-12 09:34:47

GA - well done to your son. That's a real tonic for you and you have a wedding to look forward to without that cloud on the horizon. Sorry - mixture of metaphors there! flowers

Oldgreymare Wed 31-Oct-12 09:06:36

Such good news on a gloomy Wednesday GA
