Above the Gransnet info bar is a load of nonsense about accepting cookies, also when you go into 'last hour' that has changed as well.Is this bona fide as I've not gone into either in case it's a virus or some sort of trouble. How can I ask the Gransnet office?

Annobel Sat 26-May-12 09:27:10

Bright sunshine and gentle breeze. The time has come for me to go and get my fuchsias, begonias etc to fill the empty and sad-looking pots that are knocking around my patios. [sunshine]

Oldgreymare Sat 26-May-12 09:11:12

Morning glass the OG is off to a Bridge do in Daventry, can't think of a worse thing to do on a lovely, sunny day! Still it gives me P&Q!
Now what shall I do.... I know, sort out plant pots, tidy patio and, maybe a garden centre/nursery... OOOOH and a chilled spritzer to look forward to... I think I shall have a lovely day!
specki and jacey hope you can enjoy the sunshine too.

Good morning all well its becoming a habit I could get used to waking up to sunshine [sunshine] [sunshine] [sunshine] only disappointing thing is I have a hair cut booked, my pet hate at the best of times even without sunshine.
Hope you all have a good day [sunshine] [sunshine]

Oh yes I knew it was somewhere like that!! Anyway, I missed the bloomin' thing - couldn't stand in the bedroom looking out all day........

greenmossgiel Fri 25-May-12 19:40:45

Sorry - it's come up from Portsmouth! grin

greenmossgiel Fri 25-May-12 19:39:00

Gally - the sun was streaming down by the time DH and I arrived at sister-in-law's to attend to her garden! Her little cottage looks out over the Forth, and there it was - right in front of the Bass Rock - the middle bit of the aircraft carrier, slowly being 'tugged' along. (It's taken 4 days to be towed up from Devonport, I think. (?)

specki4eyes Fri 25-May-12 19:08:09

whenim64 you have shone a little hope into my day - thank you to you and to all of you for your thoughts.

Jacey Fri 25-May-12 18:57:31

Thank you all so much for your kindness! smile
Yes I've had a quiet day ...trying to keep my brain engaged on other things. We were so lucky ...I have absolutely no idea what I talked to him aboutconfused

Anagram Fri 25-May-12 12:16:14

Yes, indeed, jacey! I would have been shaking like a leaf - thank goodness you didn't panic and were able to take charge of the situation. smile

Jacey Fri 25-May-12 12:15:10

Yes Annobel my mind is still in 'what if' mode. I did pour myself a stiff brandy when I got home.

Annobel Fri 25-May-12 12:13:29

Jacey, you showed such presence of mind. But you must still be revolving it in your mind and thinking, 'what if?' Take it easy today. brew cupcake sunshine

Jacey Fri 25-May-12 12:08:55

Anagram I tried to remain calm and continue to act as normal ...put the 80 yr with me in the car ...she has oesteoporosis and didn't need knocking over to get her bag!

Kept engaging him in conversation whilst putting my bag in the boot! he was so distracted by what i was doing that didn't stop me shock

Walked round him ...talking all the time ...to get in my side of the car and lock the doors!!

There were two other, young guys guys watching ...which was also very unnerving as I didn't know if they were with him or would come to my aid ...to say it was frightening was putting it mildly!!

I drove off at speed!! Tyres screeching ...which I was doing in my head!!

The thing was this is a carpark I don't usually use ...the one I like is by the river but thought it might be too isolated in the evening ...and it wasn't even dark!!

Thank you for asking

jeni Fri 25-May-12 11:57:21

Our equivalent of foggy or fuzzy I would imagine!

Mamie Fri 25-May-12 11:25:33

Thanks - did wonder after if it was occlus as in occluded? When I looked blank she said ce n'est pas clair so I guess that might make sense. Trouble is no matter how fluent you think you are it all flies away under stress, I find. On the other hand being angry makes me very fluent!

Anagram Fri 25-May-12 10:49:51

jacey, how awful! What did you do?

Butternut Fri 25-May-12 10:49:37

Mamie - might it have been touffu - dense, thick.? (Usually used in the foliage sense though)!

Glad all is OK!

Mamie Fri 25-May-12 10:35:12

Just back from routine mammogram. All OK, but the radiographer said that the x-rays were a bit what sounded like "eclu" (only word I can find in the French dictionary seems to be to do with lock-keepers so I can't have heard that right). I didn't know what it meant and she took another x-ray and then said I had to wait for the doctor to do an ultrasound. Only about 10 minutes, but felt like three hours. All OK though. So grateful for mammograms, but not my favourite sort of start to the day!
