In some ways I'm rather ashamed to say that I have. The heavy rain has arrived here for the second time today - it's enough to make a duck depressed!! I need a little warmth to cheer me up. I've had the heating on at least half a dozen times this June - amazing!!

We don`t usually have the fire on from about mid May until sometime in September, but apart from the mini heatwave that we had, it`s hardly been off. However, it decided to conk out on us on Saturday morning, and the man can`t come to it until Friday morning, so we`ve been shivering a bit.

have put the woodburner on in the evening. Am seriously thinking of putting the winter weight duvet back on the bed too! I packed my warmer trousers away and laundered my linen ones in anticipation of summer..but have been in my jeans ever sinceconfused

My camisoles, discarded during the warmer parts of May, have come out the drawer again too, crossstitch.

For the Scots among us: that cloot I cast before May was oot is on my back again!

Heating's not back on but the vest is!

I turn down the thermostatic valves on some of the radiators but keep them turned up in bedroom, bathroom and sitting room just in case the weather goes downhill again.

harrigran Tue 12-Jun-12 14:52:02

My heating has never been turned off, radiators come on at 6.30 so it is cosy in the bathroom. Since we had all new windows we find that sun does not warm the room like it used to.

flowerfriend Tue 12-Jun-12 13:39:04

Even here in SW France I have had to put the bathroom radiator on. No doubt I'll soon be sweltering.

Gally Tue 12-Jun-12 12:54:20

annobel I had the opposite experience yesterday - came into the house and wondered why all the radiators were belching out heat - it really was so cold that the thermostat had clicked them into action hmm

Annobel Tue 12-Jun-12 12:50:23

It was on last night but it must be warmer today because the thermostat is still at the same setting but the radiators remain cold.

Oh yes heating goes on if I'm cold but we had a big surprise we were in credit with EON after the winter and they reduced my standing order from £131 to £82 (gas and electric)

Woke up to find my other half had switched the heating to OFF, after I had put it on timer, so that it would be warm when I got up (always first up in the morning). Have duly had a word, and am now just warming up. We back on to a Caravan site, and the holiday makers there are surrounded by flood water, and walking along in wellie boots and duffle coats, feel really sad for them, I am just sitting here drinking my nice hot cup of tea! It is still raining, but the sun is just trying to break through the clouds, hope for a better day today after the relentless rain of yesterday.

Woodburner on all evening!!!

Nelliemoser Mon 11-Jun-12 23:05:51

I have also arrived back from a few days away to a really cold and damp feeling house. Not only has the heating been back on I have returned to using my hot water bottle, which even I abandoned for a few days in the hot spell. I'm nesh! and never seem to generate any heat when I am in bed, I think I must go into some sort of metabolic hibernation.

I am just off to put the kettle on! Night all!

greenmossgiel Mon 11-Jun-12 21:36:34

glass - smile!

glassortwo Mon 11-Jun-12 21:19:26

Well we are now getting the evening sun after a very damp and miserable day, I love this time of the day when the late sun lights the lawn and all the trees and the birds are darting all over the lawn and find their supper. Ah I feel very contented smile

Notsogrand Mon 11-Jun-12 21:17:48

Heating on, heavy blanket on my bed over the duvet and PJs warming over the bathroom radiator.
10 more days and the nights start drawing in.

Anagram Mon 11-Jun-12 21:06:16

I've just turned ours on now. It's been a lovely, sunny day but once the sun goes, the temperature drops rapidly!

greenmossgiel Mon 11-Jun-12 21:03:26

Yes - heating has been on here, too. Only in the living room and bathroom (need it in there, so the towels don't get 'fusty'....wink

glassortwo Mon 11-Jun-12 20:57:42

The heating has had the odd flash on wink but I hope it warms up for the second week in July we are going to Cornwall shock I dont want to have to take jumpers!!!!
