Her train that was to carry her to see Wee Man in London, is stuck in Glasgow. Please send out powerful GN vibes to get all the trains moving!

soop Fri 13-Jul-12 12:00:55

gramps you are tailor-made for GN. We love your barmy delightful sense of the ridiculous. Any more like Gramps shuffling in the wings? Stop loitering and join in the fun. grin

gramps Fri 13-Jul-12 11:35:12

Does that mean I can stay?

Jeni ,Mads are a sort of pill that helps you become irresponsible, but without the "hangups" caused my the subliminal conscience!
I get mine from "A-"Broad"
Lips sealed (except when kissing!) wink

gramps Fri 13-Jul-12 09:11:01

Oh deary me! sorry Folks, I was late taking my mads last night and my flirtacious side was unchained -my apologies to Mr. & Mrs. Soop! blush

gramps Fri 13-Jul-12 00:49:28

Soop, You sound so warm and satisfying! I bBet you could warm me up on a cold winters night! Don't take offence- I'm too old for you anyway - And I'm still madly in love with Mrs G, (but I can dream, can't I?) blush

soop Sun 08-Jul-12 20:39:12

Gramps, sweetie pie, it was a success in spite of all the adversity. smile

gramps Sun 08-Jul-12 16:57:56

So Sorry Jeni,
I quite forgot my manners, but perfectly sincere in thoughts for our friend in the "soup" Hpoe your journey was successful dear soop!

jeni Sun 08-Jul-12 15:41:38

What is it with these men! The tone of the threads deteriorates when they appear!
Not like us genteel demure lot!

gramps Sun 08-Jul-12 15:31:51

you can't always trust Virgins! They can go off the rails!

My thoughts also for soop's safe and successful journey. [prayer]

number...we enjoy the train journey. We also get well-priced tickets. It is the first time that the service was out of action. And within days, we were given a handsome refund. smile

Faye We were away for just the weekend. Should have arrived Euston at 6pm. Eventually made it at 1am...six hours overdue. However, we had such a special time. Have fun with your grandsons. Very special little people!

Faye Sat 07-Jul-12 23:41:02

I only just read this thread, looks like the vibes did thei job. Have a lovely time soop with your grandson. I am travelling soon to see two of my grandsons, I can't wait to see them again.

Soop, in the future, wouldn`t flying down there be a viable alternative?

soop Sat 07-Jul-12 13:26:58

I have only just found this thread. What a brilliant bunch you lot are. Thanks to Bags for keeping in touch. It really did lift our spirits to get your messages. The good vibes came in very handy. Only one thing would have broken my heart...not reaching our destination [I'd have walked it if I could.] Anyway, Virgin trains paid for the taxi to Carlisle - £200 there and back, as folk were stranded on that station too. Also, today, we received almost a full refund. We're very impressed and most grateful. At best, the staff at Glasgow were very mindful. At worst, the staff at other stations appeared not to be able to cope. Lack of info' was a b****r.

So relieved for her and Mr soop. I hope they can manage to put the awful journey behind them with no ill effects and have a lovely time with the wee man.

Greatnan Sat 30-Jun-12 07:56:22

I know what she means - it took me 40 hours of travelling to get back from New Zealand, but I will be there again next Spring!

Bags Sat 30-Jun-12 07:54:01

Just switched my phone on and soop's final message from that dreadful journey pinged into my pre-coffee consciousness (don't usually switch the mobile on till later but needed the timer for the bread I was starting early so that it would finish before we head out to archery club): they arrived at their hotel at one o'clock in the morning, aching all over! As soop says, "funny the things you put up with in order to see loved ones".

She sent love to GN.

Greatnan Sat 30-Jun-12 05:04:13

bikergran - when I first glanced at your post I thought you had sent vibrators - I must stop reading our porn thread!
I hope soop and Mr. Soop finally got to bed and have lovely day today.

jeni Fri 29-Jun-12 21:50:55

Best wishes toyoysoop. Have a good rest then enjoysmile

Anagram Fri 29-Jun-12 21:45:24

Hurray! Thanks for keeping us updated, Bags! smile

gracesmum Fri 29-Jun-12 21:45:23

I'm pleasantly surprised she got as far as Preston as the landslide was said to be at Tebay which is north of Preston and south of Carlisle. But very pleased she is finally on her way!

numberplease Fri 29-Jun-12 21:43:46

They`ll be worn out when they arrive, hope someone`s meeting them.

glassortwo Fri 29-Jun-12 21:38:15

Mr S will make sure soop takes it easy.

Bags Fri 29-Jun-12 21:34:45

They are on a train for Euston, ETA midnight!

But, says trouper soop, "knackered but still smiling". I have sent hugs from us all.

numberplease Fri 29-Jun-12 21:29:37

What a nightmare of a day they`re having, hope they`re on their way again soon, or better still, getting a good night`s rest in an hotel.
