Her train that was to carry her to see Wee Man in London, is stuck in Glasgow. Please send out powerful GN vibes to get all the trains moving!

Oh heck!! Broomsticks at the ready for Soop! Seen all the queues on the news! confused

jeni Fri 29-Jun-12 15:32:59

Couldp we relay her by car?

numberplease Fri 29-Jun-12 15:41:11

Strong vibes being sent, hope she`s soon back on her way.

Bags Fri 29-Jun-12 16:02:08

Wish we could, jeni! Latest text message says "trees on line, cables down, bugger!" Poor soop sad

Anagram Fri 29-Jun-12 16:16:05

Oh, how frustrating! If there's no chance of the train moving, I do hope they arrange alternative transport for people (especially soop!)

kittylester Fri 29-Jun-12 16:17:44

Poor soop sad

Ella46 Fri 29-Jun-12 16:54:24

If anyone can make it happen, it is soop. After all she is Supergran! I'm still sending all good vibes just in case. [fingers crossed emoticon]

I'd heard that both the East coast and the West coast lines were blocked by landslides etc after the awful weather. soop has my sympathy, it must be sooooooooooo disappointing for her sad

Seems she has sooped up a taxi to Carlisle and a train from there. Keep those vibes going, everyone! smile

absentgrana Fri 29-Jun-12 17:13:32

Vibing now Bags.

Greatnan Fri 29-Jun-12 17:17:03

I have everything crossed for soop to get there safely and have a wonderful time with the wee man.

numberplease Fri 29-Jun-12 17:23:12

Glad she`s found a solution, but that taxi must be costing a small king`s ransom! Hope the rest of her journey goes smoothly.

greenmossgiel Fri 29-Jun-12 17:46:42

Perhaps the taxi driver will do the trip for a reduced fee - and hopefully soop will get a refund on part of her train ticket (?)

GoldenGran Fri 29-Jun-12 17:51:34

I'm keeping the vibes going, fingers crossed and a few prayers thrown in, I can do no more than that, she has to see her GS.

kittylester Fri 29-Jun-12 17:59:18

Once my (disabled) son had booked a train from Derby to Crewe which didn't run. He was then catching another train to somewhere else (??) so the train company booked him a taxi to Crewe to enable him to make his connection. Maybe that is the case with soop. Hope so!

B stay in touch with us re. soop's travelling drama. It is a bugger, isn't it!

Bags Fri 29-Jun-12 18:21:43

green, they had booked seats on the train which means,in effect, that the train company (probably Virgin) have undertaken to get you to your destination. If they have to use other forms of transport or put you up in a hotel for the night, they pay. Happened to us a couple of times missing connection to Inverness because of delays from Oxford to Edinburgh. Taxi driver from Inverness to Lochinver said he did it quite often because of missed connections!

Anagram Fri 29-Jun-12 18:27:12

Good! At least they're having to pay something back out of their huge profits!
(Although compensation is probably already factored into the fare prices...)

glassortwo Fri 29-Jun-12 18:32:19

Oh I am pleased soop is on her way. I would have gone over to Carlisle and took her part the way down if we could have set up a shuttle service.

Bags Fri 29-Jun-12 19:01:57

Verbatim update on soop's progress: "Nightmare! Carlisle train chaotic. Now going to Preston and hope train Euston. People standing. Noise earsplitting. Never say die."

Love her spunk! smile

Anagram Fri 29-Jun-12 19:05:09

What a trouper! smile

Butternut Fri 29-Jun-12 19:17:15

nag - ditto!

greenmossgiel Fri 29-Jun-12 19:26:59

She'll get there....smile

Annobel Fri 29-Jun-12 19:40:21

sooper trouper. It'll all be worthwhile when she sees the wee man at last. I do hope she reaches London in time to get a decent night's sleep!
