I'm pretty sure heartburn is common anyway as we get older. Probably nothing to do with the Ibuprofen. 10 mgs Omeprazole daily (prescription - don't pay Boots' ridiculous price) takes care of my acid indigestion. No side that I have noticed.

I get NO side effects from Ibu. Just don't take too many, or for a very long period of time.

It is one of the best pain relievers, over the counter or on prescription. IMO.

Blimey whats a NSAID? Yes also heartburn for me I have been taking them lately for pain from mouth ulcers shall stop immediately as I thought it was my diet?! Not sure if they are the correct stuff to take for mouth ulcers but I generally take absolutely nothing as I am a great believer in letting your body sort itself out if it possibly can.

All the NSAIDs can cause stomach irritation and heartburn. When I use voltarol (similar but stronger) I deliver it by suppository and have less problems.

What are the well-known long term issues? confused

I guess that a bunged up Tum is very usual that is what happens to me.

Does anyone know of any unusual side effects? I'm not talking about the well known long term issues.
