yes. Right under my collar bone, mainly on the right side.

Besides, what can they do about ME even if it is that?

jeni Wed 11-Jul-12 19:09:45

Naproxen ! Aspirin! Both gastric irritants! Are you SURE it's your chest?

Bags Wed 11-Jul-12 19:09:03

Thanks for pushing me to the GP, ariadne, but I've been umpteen times. He's sick of me. Have been sent for chest x-rays several times. Nothing shows up. He keeps suggesting ME but I don't think so as I have plenty of energy except when pain really gets me down.

She's allready said no gp or I would have said 1st port of call. But she's a stubborn old bag!
It could be a completely different cause rather than asthma!
She won't listen to me!
So! You lot nag her!

I take painkillers every day for arthritis, jeni – max dose co-codamol 30/500 most days plus naproxen sometimes for joint pain, plus anti-histamines and aspirin sometimes for rhinitis (it makes my face and head hurt). Nothing helps the chest pain.

PS I don't take aspirin and naproxen on the same day. Aspirin is the only thing that deals with the rhinitis headaches when anti-histamines aren't enough. Sigh again.

have just shoved some sausages and cauliflower cheese in the oven for dinner. Maybe that will help. sad

Left my post midway and glad to see everyone else is leaping in too! Please take the advice. I know nothing medical, but feel you are asking for help.xxx

sunshine bags take it easy for a while, this muggy atmosphere doesn't help at all. flowers

Ariadne Wed 11-Jul-12 19:02:00

Oh Bags! You really do need to see someone! I bet jeni will be here telling you that too. Is there a walk in centre or something nearby, or a cottage hospital - I know you live in the country but if the GPncan't help..worried about you. xxx

Bags I know that pollen seems too easy a solution but it just might be. This year in the whole of western Europe because of our wierd weather tree pollen had been much more of a problem. Am I sensing you just don't want to go ask a doctor? What about jeni

Butternut Wed 11-Jul-12 18:56:22

That's miserable for you B. All that gallivanting I expect! Feet up and REST. brew. Here's a bit of sunshine

Sympathy, Bags. Mr A has COPD and couldn't sleep all last Friday night because of chest pain - had to call in the paramedics and they gave him a blast of nebuliser! It must be terribly draining - especially when there are all those things that need doing...sad
Hope you feel better soon.

jeni Wed 11-Jul-12 18:52:31

bags the pollen count for some reason is odd this year. It's been affecting me more than usual.
Sure the pain s respiratory rather than other causes?
Take some pain relief and see if that helps?
Don't worry about moaning. It's what we're here for!

Go to this made me laugh! Or the grandads.

Oh Bags how rotten to be feeling like that. I hope it llfts and you're soon on top form again flowers

Bags Wed 11-Jul-12 18:45:15

Sorry but I just need a moan. Chest hurting all day stopping me doing stuff. Don't suggest the GP. He hasn't a clue. Am slightly asthmatic but peak flow is constant, if a little low. Every time I have to fight off a cold (seems to be every other week and sometimes I think I'm fighting off two at once) my chest hurts, sometimes for several days. Sigh. sad
