Me too, petallus. I do it on line as well as the Independent one. Both are still free. I am stuck on one clue in today's Everyman crossword in the Observer which is, I think, the easiest of the cryptic crosswords.

I can't do cryptic but I do the Guardian Quick Crossword every day. It's a ritual.

scuse me, old and boring people, I won't argue about 'boring' but as for 'old', I don't really believe that everyone here is old enough to qualify because old is when you can't do crosswords because of all the words that you have forgotten. Yesterday I could not think of the word 'encore'. Today I remembered it. Too late, I have already thrown that crossword in the recycle bin.
Ah, now plz be patient while I think of the next word...

Is Oldie Borum dull?
Why is that?.
Is it because it is assumed to be a mans thing and the multi tasking renaissance women of elsewhere on Gransnet cant be arsed with talk of sheds and crosswords and Harris tweed and and shooting stick shops. They talk of little but Monsoon and Apple and are not boring
