Ok I did the supportive wife of sports fan for a week and now I am bored with the Olympics - what are you all doing?

gracesmum Mon 06-Aug-12 20:01:53

That's a bit like the survey question "Have you stopped beating your wife?"

I'm watching the Olympics! smile

merlotgran Mon 06-Aug-12 20:04:08

Annobel Mon 06-Aug-12 20:07:32

Knitting a blanket, had all the wool all ready, as I knew how I'd get fed up. Also had a few early nights!

I am planning an intensive exercise regime when the weather improveswink

In a house with no television, so I'm on GransNet!! grin

I'm sitting here knitting a blanket too, Lancashirelass! I've been knitting large squares for a patchwork blanket for my old cast-iron bed. Been doing it for ages, and it's very therapeutic! I've just had to check up what's happening here though, so my laptop's sitting on top of my knitting! smile

Knitting a shawl whilst watching Pobol y Cwm - with subtitles! Otherwise just carrying on as normal but catching up on the Olympics with the news headlines.

susiecb Tue 07-Aug-12 10:31:39

I suppose if I was sensible I would spend my time cleaning the oven etc- proably wont. In conservatory looking at the rain, doing compueter stuff and waiting fro my firend to take me to lunch in a windmill!!

GoldenGran Tue 07-Aug-12 10:49:58

I am watching the dressage on my ipad as I clean the kitchen, I am still addicted. Will we all miss it next week?

susiecb Tue 07-Aug-12 11:05:05

No no its been too much for me. I ahve watched some events as DH absolutley loves it and was a very good athlete himself buut really all these pre mortems and post mortem drive me mad. I had hoed there would be some big films or something on. Have to find a DVD for this evening. I should finsih my knitting as well - its a summer top proably to chilly to wear it so I could start on a some winter pieces I suppose. I'm in a kind of torpor today!!

GoldenGran Tue 07-Aug-12 11:13:45

Well even I have now turned it off, the dressage is a little like watching paint dry, even for me,I love the Equestrian events. time for food shopping and finishing house work. susiecb if I were you I would get on with the knitting fairly smartly, it felt like Autumn when I went out this morning. sunshine

gracesmum Tue 07-Aug-12 12:27:54

Loving the dressage! But why oh why is the Canadian girl in a crash hat? Dressage is the last outpost of elegant formal riding wear and this just looks wrong. (Also her jacket is caught in the back of her saddle - a bit like having yur skirt caught up in your knickers - someone should have checked her rear view!)

Barrow Tue 07-Aug-12 13:37:22

Catching up with all the DVD and Box Sets that I haven't had time to watch!
Am I the only person who hasn't watched ANY of the Olympics (although I did take a peek at the opening ceremony - only for the last 10 mins though!)

whitewave Tue 07-Aug-12 14:11:58

Wasn't aware that there was anything else grin

whitewave Tue 07-Aug-12 14:39:53

Actually thinkng about it I have the TV on - sat here on GN listening too the TV and trotting downstairs each time I hear something interesting and in between doing some gardening - half heartedly you understand. I can multi task!

harrigran Tue 07-Aug-12 19:31:12

No you are not the only one Barrow I have not watched a single minute of the olympics and neither do I know the names of any athletes. I have plenty to occupy my time without TV.

Years ago I decorated the living room diring Wimbledon fortnight so i realised what a good time it is to do spring cleaning and suchlike when there's sport on the telly so it's on but I don't have to concentrate totally on it. Have done a lot of spring cleaning over the past few days. Just as I get a bit fed up and do a bit of cannel hopping I almost miss Andrew Osagie qualify for the final tomorrow night. The S.O. has been telling me about this lad for ages.

whenim64 Tue 07-Aug-12 20:20:59

Are you crazy crimson? Wimbledon fortnight? mind you, I would decorate when the Epsom Derby and Grand National are on grin
