What do you deserve a gold medal for?

I deserve a gold for putting up with 2 weeks sport.

I deserve a gold medal for having my very energetic 6 year old grandson stay over for a week, whilst trying to cope with having my bathroom and loo totally ripped out and refurbished. T'was no picnic, but we survived. (Not so sure about the workmen though lol)

I keep trying but, first, I must learn to read what I write and spell correctly!

Just returned from holiday and very jetlagged but stayed with DS3 and family last night before coming home and GS (26 months) stuck a gold medal to my foot because I have 'pretty nails'.

The one I would award to myself is for not throwing a hissy fit about/to DiL1 who doesn't like or speak to most of her family and doesn't like colleagues and me!

For not reacting when my step DIL throws one of her verbal hand grenades at our feet. I award one to DH for the same thing.

shysal Thankyou ....am feeling annoyed with myself for keep whinging,when others also have heavy burdens to carry,at least my problems are just domestic upheavals compared to some other GNs and the school holidays will eventually end....think all women deserve a gold medal ,but especially all my lovely GN friends just for the fortune we save the government by supporting each other and offering a hand of friendship,with warmth and compassion when all goes t*ts up in our own world GNHQ could we have a gold medal emoticon please,we could take it in turns to be awarded it each weekxxxxxx

For offering to potty train my grandson when he comes to stay with me for a week later this month. I've bought a cushioned toilet seat with handles and sea themed pictures, a special potty for boys that can be hung from the toilet rim, story book that has a button to be pressed when the pirate toddler does wees and poos etc, and of course a pirate themed sticker chart and stickers. Oh yes, big boys underpants and three packs of wee mats for the cot as well. Didn't make all this effort for my own children!

Can't think of anything. Perhaps it's time I stirred myself up!

Putting up with coffee spills when I've just washed the kitchen floor; putting up with grass trampled into the carpet when I've just spent ages vaccing it; putting up with papers oozing out onto the landing from someone's study when I'm trying to clear up; being pleased to have a couple of clear surfaces only to find they've attracted the contents of envelopes moments later.........

I award myself a gold medal for being such a brave 'girl' today.
DH thought it would be a good idea for the two of us to take a walk across some fields which has very long grass, and we all know that hiding in the grass are grass snakes waiting to attack me !.

I don't think I deserve a gold medal but will award myself a bronze one for services rendered over the last month to DD2 and her family; I am running out of puff and have a sore throat and sniffly nose and feel like a holiday

My problem too green Dh says I should learn when to button it, I do try but sometimes not very successfully.

Sometimes it may be necessary to say a little 'something' perhaps.....just as an aside, as you walk away, Jess and Ella? Although, that's often been my downfall! As the Other 'arf has said so many times, "Why do you always have to say something - can't you just leave it?"

I'm giving myself one for keeping my mouth firmly closed, when there is So much I want to say/scream, and for not doing any serious physical damage to a very close in law!

I think mine would be in Tolerance. Trouble is, people don't bloody notice do they. But I tolerate them not noticing that I am being tolerant... even when they are being intolerant.
