How judgmental are you?

We have had various threads where people have expressed their views quite forcefully about which newspaper others read blush, people who are supposed benefit-scroungers or have been to public school etc, etc, but how good are you at seeing people and situations from a non-prejudiced point of view?

My feeling is that we all (especially as we get older) have different preconceptions but, if we accept that we have them, we can then learn to ignore them or work round them.

What do you think?

It's just your dirty mind, Jura! You know how little interest I have in men!

Marelli Tue 21-Aug-12 19:11:00

granjura - I did wonder what Greatnan had seen......maybe she wasn't so alone when she was in for that swim today...wink

Greatnan Tue 21-Aug-12 19:13:11

I couldn't see a thing - don't you start with the innuendos too! Remember, there are people on here who might take offence. Good job I am not one of them.

Marelli Tue 21-Aug-12 19:16:08

Just as well, Greatnan....smile

Greatnan Tue 21-Aug-12 19:22:49

Yes, I have just been accused of lying - do you think I should report it?

Littlenellie Tue 21-Aug-12 19:22:57

Good job there are no men on here,to hear the words cock and judgemental on the same thread..grin

Greatnan Tue 21-Aug-12 19:24:50

Don't forget our granddads, Nellie!

How on earth did this thread get on to the subject of chickens? My DS and his family have half a dozen 'retired' free range chickens which provide plenty of eggs. At their previous house they also had a few. One of them developed a chest infection and while trying to administer the antibiotics, DiL inadvertently choked it! When my GD (then about 5 or 6) was asked if it had 'gone to heaven', she looked pityingly at the adult and said, 'No, Daddy wrapped it in a black bag and put it in the bin.' grin

Children are often very down to earth! My daughter reckons her hens won't be fit for eating after their laying years are over, so they will live in happy retirement until nature takes it course. I think she is just too attached to them.

Seem to be a lot of bird brains on here suddenly' grin

Infantile, sabotaging threads deliberately. No respect for original poster.

Greatnan Wed 22-Aug-12 13:29:44

Welcome, Lotus FLower - I think this is your first post. What a lovely name you have chosen.

soop Wed 22-Aug-12 13:32:07

lotusflower Welcome.

Nonu Wed 22-Aug-12 13:32:43

Welcome Lotus Flower , hope you have a good time on Gransnet

absentgrana Wed 22-Aug-12 13:33:36

Hello and welcome lotusflower. I think you'll find that the sabotaging is completely coincidental and that we all have a great deal of respect – and liking – for kitty. As for infantile – some of us may be in that last and seventh age of which Jacques spoke so eloquently, but most are not. smile

petallus Wed 22-Aug-12 13:35:58

lotusflower now you point it out, I think there was a determined effort to go off thread some way back with chickens.

I don't think it was done with malice though. Some posters don't like too much conflict and try to head it off.

Greatnan Wed 22-Aug-12 13:58:13

Most of us enjoy the way threads wander - it is just like chatting to a group of friends.

Ariadne Wed 22-Aug-12 14:05:30

Exactly!
