anno I suffer from time to time and at the first sign I drink gallons of water, but it does mean lots of trips to the loo but it does work and there is always something to pass instead of that feeling of passing glass. Hope you are better soon. I find if I have been dehydrated it brings it on.

Sympathy anno cystitis is horrible. The fastest I have recovered from it was when I saw a lovely young Doctor in Avignon, a single dose of antibiotic. I think it was a powdered nuclear bomb, it blasted the germs

anno I'm so sorry to hear that you've cystitis. It is such a pain and can really drag you down. Start the tablets asap. Hoping that you get some relief and begin to feel heaps better in time for news of babe's arrival.

And now I am waiting to hear about my new great nephew/niece who will be delivered today. My sister is probably biting her nails down to the quick.

Just 'fallen' off the flight from Sydney, via HK. We bumped most of the way back - you should have seen the queue for the loo after being forcibly strapped in for two and a half hours - mostly men I have to add - nae bladder control . It's lovely to be back in Blighty again even if it is a tad chilly - but the sun is out and I shall endeavour to stay awake for as long as possible before succumbing to jetlag. Back on GN form tomorrow or the next day when I will catch up with you all.

I had one 'prissy' daugher who never had a hair out of place, but her sister made Just William look neat. Same with the gc, gender does not seem to be important, just personality.

harri it works well and makes the Nursery part of the school from day one, the school also sell the embroidered logo tops but the remainder can be bought anywhere.
bags yes girls can be a scruffy too my DD would go out like a new pin and by the end of the day you would think she had been dragged through a hedge backwards
greatnan they do run a scheme where old uniform can be passed down to anyone who needs it but there is not much that lasts the school year, unless they have a growth spurt.

Why not ask the school to set up a scheme of handing on uniform to younger children? It worked very well at my gcs school. No money involved, parents just donated good, used, uniform to a central store. Other parents made an appointment to visit discreetly. Nobody knew which child had uniform from the store.
I hate the way some schools dictate where you can get uniform - no doubt they get some commisson from the supplier, but uniform can be bought so cheaply now in several stores.

No sexism here, please. Girls can be scruffy too. And often are, if DD is anything to go by. Long may it last.

That is economical glass GD's pre school and reception class had completely different coloured uniforms. the clothes have to be bought from the school too because they have the badge woven on.

anno she had the same uniform for nursery so its old hat, but she is over the moon with her big girl shoes, she has tiny feet and has wished for these shoes but her feet were too small but they now fit so she is like a dog with two tails... she walked into the classroom and said to the teacher Mrs* * * ** look at my big girl shoes.
Boys have to be scruffy or there is something wrong.

Is she proud of herself in her new school uniform, glass? My youngest GS looks strangely cute in his, though there's no doubt at all that he will soon be as scruffy as his father was.

Today I spent the last afternoon with my DGD who has her first full day at School tomorrow she has been coming home straight after lunch. I am going to miss the chatter but she is loving school, she will be worn out when I collect her at 3.15.

Thanks anno. It was certainly challenging and inspiring, came just at the right time and was an adventure I needed.

Butty - that sounds as if it qualifies as white knuckle driving! I did a lot of off-road stuff - in a Beetle, through rivers etc - in East Africa in my youth - but your adventure is in a class of its own! Respect!
