Apart from choosing a new name, I've been slathering Germolene on insect bites - how lovely is that? My new name doesn't make one think of Germolene and insect bites! It's the time of year for these and I'm covered in large itchy bumps...grin

soop your photos are so happy, they really made me smile sunshine

Gally You'll never be truly alone in your home, I'm sure Mr G will be keeping an eye on you smile

Gally Wed 26-Sept-12 18:21:57

Great pics Soop. Ella sad - what is it about new cars. My son in law's new BMW broke down in the middle of Wales yesterday on the way to their holiday (in the rain). All the electrics went so they couldn't retrieve the luggage from the boot for 5 hours - gc's aged 1 and 2 ran riot in the garage until it was fixed grin
Today I took DD3 and her 2 little ones to the airport to return home. They came back with me last week to keep me company after 12 weeks away from the house; so, tonight is the first on my own in all that time which is quite daunting. Going away was lovely but it's almost like turning the clock back to June and starting the process all over again. Hopefully I will be stronger this time but I do miss Mr.G and the house is so very quiet as I write this. On the up side, I have next week's Edinburgh meeting to prepare for and new/old friends to meet sunshine

I've got one of those somewhere, soop, take when youngest GS was 3, I think. They seem to enjoy hiding in those big pots.

soop Wed 26-Sept-12 15:58:52

I've enjoyed catching up with the latest comings and goings and am very happy for everyone that has had something good to celebrate.
Enjoy your new home, Ariadne It was sad to read the not-so-good news. when I'm happy for you that the wedding was a great success. harri Loch Lomond looked lovely as we motored home yesterday. The worst of the weather had moved on, thank goodness. number Oh dear! I wish with all my heart to hear that Pepper has returned to the family. flowers
Thank you for all the kind comments about the latest pics. I'm in my element, as I have a whole stack of glossy photo paper on which to print my favourite images. So much for catching up with some serious housework. hmm

Such happy family photos, soop. Glad you had such a wonderful gathering. The 'wee man' won't be 'wee' for much longer. But I guess he'll always be your wee man.

Bags Wed 26-Sept-12 13:49:00

Hello to you lot. I have been uploading images of a our lovely weekend with family in Oakham. It was enormous fun. All the "grown up" grandchildren made the journey from London, Bristol and Gosport. It was a huge surprise to enter a very quiet room and be greeted with woops of laughter, grin From that moment thereon, we didn't stop blethering. Wee man stole the limelight. He was the tops. His sunny dispostion was heart warming. We were treated like royality and had lots of treats during our stay. We missed Gen. I've spoken with her and have forwarded some pics of wee man.
The weather was lousy during our travels. However, it was fine over the weekend and we sat outside well into the evening. By the time we reached the Rest and be Thankful, the worst of the rain and wind was behind us. In fact the sun shone. It was good to reach home...just short of 900 miles of motoring takes its toll on the creaky joints! Mr soop was amazing...as usual.
I haven't yet caught up with all the happenings since last week. I promise to do so...once I've emptied the washing machine and attended to a few pressing jobs around the house.
Believe me, I have missed you. smile
