Am I the only one who is confused and bewildered? This thread seems to have developed its own manic sense of direction remarkably quickly.

The vinegar has some wonderful uses.

Re the insect bites, vinegar takes the itchiness away, but it does make me smell like a chippy!

I'm going down to the chemist to get some Tiger Balm - and I meant to type itchy BITES not itchy BITS...

When I was in Thailand I wouldn't have lasted a minute without Tiger Balm. I was bitten half to death and although I was covered in ugly red weals at least the itchiness was relieved. Wonderful stuff Tiger Balm. (Just as an aside did you know that 'weal' is an archaic word for riches or prosperity?)
And why is it that my feeble brain can so easily remember such useless information, but readily forgets the important stuff?

It doesn't stop the itching, Bags..., and I hoped it would. Hydrocortisone cream usually works well with me, but these little blighters must have more 'itchy stuff' in their bits at the moment. I like the smell of Germolene as well, glass! Homely!

Although I do like the smell of germolene.

Antihistamines are the only thing that stops me itching.

Does germolene stop the itching? I use Tiger Balm, which does.
