Flyting - I like that. I think I like the Jane Austen idea best for the irony emoticon.

What an excellent idea

Before I read this thread, I thought I had a headache; now I know I have one. An exchange of insults is known in Scottish literary tradition as 'flyting'. Perhaps we could have a 'flyting' thread where we could insult one another with impunity.

Given how old you are, I assume you are not talking about a form of physical control and, frankly, although you have an very arrogant attitude towards your intellectual abilities, I doubt you can match up when push comes to shove. Be scared, be very, very scared. Just get on with your Nordic (foreign again) walking poles and bathing (ugh) in continental lakes.

I'm beginning to wonder [seriously] whether or not I'm losing far too many vital grey cells for a lassie of my tender years. I read and re-read some threads, and cannot for the life of me gauge whether a member is being deliberately abrasive or intelligently controversial. Maybe I'm just dim-witted. It's really rather worritsome.
