Yesterday while in the front garden, 2 young lads walked past. One was about 11 and the other about 9. They had a dog on a lead and were carrying a football and some golf clubs, looked like they'd been to the park. Further down the road the dog went on the verge and did a poo. My first thought was that they'd just walk on, whilst an older person would probably clear it up. But the older lad took a plastic bag out of his pocket and spent quite a while cleaning up the mess. Now there was no-one around and it would have been so easy to leave it. It cheered me up to think that they were doing it because it was the right thing to do and not because they had to. Just a little thing, but it did make me smile.smile

Happy for you, kitty I can picture the children marching to music. What's more, I adore Pimms. wine

We looked out the window and saw a convoy of swans gliding through the sea... led by an adolescent signet, followed by mother swan and three more signets. The cob swam alongside. The sight brought a big smile to our faces.

Bet that was a sight to behold. brew

Nonu the convoy was just that...so straight and neatly spaced. Swans are beautiful creatures. smile

Very true. I was worried about a lone swan that used to swim close to the shore near Lochgilphead. It appeared to be lonely for several seasons. I contacted someone [can't remember who] and expressed my concerns. Well, not only did I receive a super wee badge and appreciative letter, but a mate was introduced to the lone bird...wasn't that a happy ending?

A lady has just called to see whether we are the owners of "a wee ginger kitten, seen strolling along the verge". The lady, her husband, son, and I, went on a search. Nothing found. Now I'm wondering...has Rory found a new mate...is the kitten [about 2 months old] his latest offspring? hmm No wonder he's been asleep all day in his classy apartment. Please, don't tell me that we've another kitten to trap and be 'seen to' by the Campbeltown vet. Mind you, those that were neutered, are now fine, healthy felines and, I'm certain, all the better for not reproducing at a rate of knots. smile

Smiling because I think (famous last words) I have broken the back of the moving preparations. Theseus is taking stuff down to Devon tomorrow, and I was worried today as he had a meeting at Heathrow at 2.00 today, which meant hitting the road back at the worst possible time. Wasn't expecting him until at least 7.00, but he's now off the M20 and heading this way. So for once, the M25 behaved.

Not going out tonight smile.
