2 days ago my brown bin was delivered so now I can put all garden waste in that instead of bagging it up and taking it to the tip. Yesterday I had a great time doing -all- some of the jobs in the garden that I have been putting off. I was on a dead heading frenzy and a large unruly buddlia had a very severe hair cut.
The brown bin is nearly full but I have left enough room for the grass cuttings when DGS cuts the grass for me at the weekend.
I feel very good about this. It has just made one part of my life easier and made tidying the garden a more enjoyable experience.

Alison...it's a test to establish how porous, or not, the site is. Because there is no mains sewage system, drainage from a septic tank, or whatever, has to be man enough for the job...so to speak. We're hiring a local man with a wee digger. Results then go to a surveyor. We'll be taking Mr soop's initial drawings in to the planners on Friday. We've dealt with them before, and they are a decent bunch of fellas. In fact, at one point, when we had nowhere to live, the chief planner suggested that we might like to camp in his office. 
Awoke to the news that Andy has won the US open ...the first Brit since Fred Perry who won it 70 years ago. Amazing! Now I'm off to work. Take good care of yourselves.
