DH is up and out of the house before 7! I think that's a first in all the time I've known him. He's off to shoot arrows at Bannockburn. Hope he has fun.

Anything unusual about your Sunday?

grin to both!

soop Sun 07-Oct-12 16:35:37

gracesmum Sun 07-Oct-12 17:16:47

We could use an [impressed] emoticon I think!

soop Sun 07-Oct-12 17:42:03

Looked through the window to see six swans in flight. The sunlight on their plumage, casting a reflection on the placid sea. smile

Gally Sun 07-Oct-12 17:49:39

'Our' young swan who has been pottering about the burn and beach for the past few weeks (probably longer but I wasn't here to see him) was lying dead in the harbour today - so sad sad

gracesmum Sun 07-Oct-12 17:57:33

Oh dear, such graceful and noble creatures I always think sad

Another 'unusual' thing. GS has asked if he can come to stay (been a reformed character for a while now!) It will mean his first solo journey. It is just lovely to think that he wants to spend time with us.(huge smile emoticon)
Gally still early days, and these are days of downs as well as ups. Glad you achieved so much despite feeling low. (((hugs)))
Soop saw a small skein of geese flying along the Avon valley, keeping up with the train until it gathered speed and they veered off, outlined against an early morning sky. I knew then we were in for a good time!

gracesmum Sun 07-Oct-12 18:02:46

"The geese are flying along the Avon valley " - I weel say zees ohnly wance..... grin

Oldgreymare Sun 07-Oct-12 18:05:34

grin yes it does sound a bit like an 'Allo 'Allo script now I pause to think about it.
It does do to engage brain before letting fingers loose on a keyboard!

harrigran Sun 07-Oct-12 22:32:06

I hope that wasn't a Savigny hangover Gally it can be quite heady grin

I had such a pleasant Sunday - the sun was shining and we walked along the beach for a while, then went for a drink with friends, then to DD's for a late Sunday lunch to celebrate DSiL's birthday. (if you remember, this is quite new for us!) Both DSs and their families were together in Hampshire so there was a lot of "Face timing" on iPhones, with all the cousins shouting to one another. Bless them.

I can see the hills and fields as we turn into this road; so nice to have so much green nearby. Lovely, lovely day.

Removal men arrive today. I await with a mixture of delight and apprehension of the "where are we going to put everything" sort.

I had an indoor day, as it rained too much for a walk - only the second day I have missed taking Gatsby out in over two weeks. I don't like her to get too wet and cold because she is obviously feeling very stiff.
I read about 200 pages of The 19th Wife and caught up with the programmes I had recorded when I was out exploring on previous days.
Then I had a long chat with my daughter in New Zealand, who gets free calls to Europe. All good news - she always cheers me up. I exchanged pms on Facebook with my eldest grand-daughter. She is juggling working long hours in an hotel, looking after two children under four, and studying her OU course. Her lovely fiance also works very hard and is great with the children. I am very proud of her - she has not had an easy life.

Misty here this morning, but the sun is trying to get through, so I think I will be having a good walk.

Gally - I wish I could have helped you with clearing out your shed - I am a frustrated clearer-outer as I have only a ski-locker and a balcony - both very tidy! I did manage to clear out two sheds for my sister last time I was there and made several trips to the tip. As long as I have my Marigolds on, I will tackle anything!

Gally Mon 08-Oct-12 07:39:46

Greatnan.........there's still another shed to do and then, of course a garage filled to the rafters with 'stuff' grin

Greatnan Mon 08-Oct-12 07:58:00

Gally - enjoy!

Bags Mon 08-Oct-12 08:02:04

When are you coming to stay for a clearing out holiday in western Scotland, G? I need someone to tackle the cellar with me.

Greatnan Mon 08-Oct-12 11:59:01

Bags, do you mind if I wait until it gets warmer? smile

Gally Mon 08-Oct-12 12:14:04

Oi Bags - she's coming to me first with her marigolds grin

Greatnan Mon 08-Oct-12 12:17:35

I will have to look up flights from Geneva! Gally, you have no excuse for not coming to France (I will excuse Bags for the moment.)

Gally Mon 08-Oct-12 12:24:02

Quelle bonne idee Greatnan - Easyjet fly from Geneva to Edinburgh wink

Bags Mon 08-Oct-12 12:30:59

Humph! Ever felt muscled out? wink grin

Ella46 Mon 08-Oct-12 12:35:47

I went to my dgd's 1st birthday (as mentioned) and had a really great time. My ex totally ignored me but didn't actually say anything unpleasant, and the rest of us enjoyed our gorgeous baby.
She wore a huge pink tutu (it wore her really!) and was delightful. Everytime she toppled over (she won't walk yet) she sank gracefully to the floor in a sea of pink frills!

My dd has given me her iphone 4 which I used to take loads of pictures and videos of my chin, chest and shoes grin and dgd!
I'm sure I'll get the hang of it soon! grin

Greatnan Mon 08-Oct-12 12:36:03

Only because you have so much baggage, bags!

Greatnan Mon 08-Oct-12 12:37:09

Ella, she sounds gorgeous. Can you post the pictures on your profile? Some of us are having problems.

Bags Mon 08-Oct-12 12:37:44

You'd better mean Minibags, or that's a double humph! grin
