DH is up and out of the house before 7! I think that's a first in all the time I've known him. He's off to shoot arrows at Bannockburn. Hope he has fun.

Anything unusual about your Sunday?

baubles Sun 07-Oct-12 07:37:29

It's my MIL's birthday today so one of my SIL's is having a get together this afternoon which MIL will love. I'm not so good in crowds even though I've known them all for many years so I'm always a little nervous.

Hope your DH only hits the targets grin

Gally Sun 07-Oct-12 07:38:32

It's called a hangover Bags - no, don't ask..........blush

Oh dear Gally Hope you haven't been the Tiger who came to tea and drunk all the wine in the fridge
Cold and sunny here, just going to collect the eggs and then have a cooked breakfast. Try it Gally grin

He will, baubles. He's on his way to being a Master Bowman. Hope your MiL party goes well. You were fine in the GN crowd at gally's smile

gally, wink. Cooked breakfast sounds like a good idea. I'm going to ask anyway.... not leftovers from last Wednesday by any chance?

We were going to have a family day out to Thorpe Park today with picnic and all but my eldest daughter is sick and not feeling up to the drive or day walking around so we called it off yesterday PM.. the younger grands were disappointed but we'll rearrange it for two weeks before they close for the Winter.. so its putting the garden to bed for the Winter for me today at least its a beautiful one..

Glorious day here today. Yesterday DH and I caught the train from our village to the station just before Gally's village, and walked back along the Coastal Path to the nearest little town, catching the bus back home. Will go for another wander about today...maybe just through the trees on the outskirts of here. The colour is too good to miss. smile

I am about to leave the forum for an hour and a quarter, as I have to listen to The Archer's Omnibus on line. I normally listen to it on my TV at home, whilst surfing, but Juragran's TV does not get Radio 4. I will be back......

moomin Sun 07-Oct-12 09:51:06

Gorgeous morning here too! Decorator here for an early start and soon the colour will be going up on our new room. Washing on, line out ready, off to walk to the shop to collect the Sunday paper.

Hope the sun is shining on you all sunshine

Elegran Sun 07-Oct-12 10:31:14

Sun is shining here. DS will be here later to walk with me through the woods to the hidden Walled Garden (a lovely peaceful place) after which we will walk a couple of hundred yards further and meet up with DD2 and family for a Sunday lunch out.

moomin your sun is my sun, isn't it a lovely day ?
Nothing unusual about my day, I am doing what I do every Sunday, visiting the DGC. Today though I am expecting eldest to say to me "do you know Grandma, I am going to see Disney on ice on Saturday" I know she is I bought the tickets and gave up a weekend away to look after GD2 because their Daddy is at star camp that weekend smile

Elegran Sun 07-Oct-12 11:21:34

anneandgraham Robert Browning, Pippa's song

"THE year's at the spring,
And day's at the morn;
Morning's at seven;
The hill-side's dew-pearl'd;
The lark's on the wing;
The snail's on the thorn;
God's in His heaven—
All's right with the world!

jeni Sun 07-Oct-12 12:14:29

Gally Sun 07-Oct-12 12:23:27

Elegran That was my Dad's favourite poem - he wrote it in my autograph book when I was about 8. I had it inscribed on the back of the service sheet at his funeral. I am having a really bad day and that has cheered me up a bit smile

Bags Sun 07-Oct-12 12:24:38

Oh dear, Bags, while I hate to rain on your DH's parade, but the battle was a wee while ago and he might have missed the action.grin
PS I think we won about 2-nil but I understand there is to be a rematch at Flodden? Not sure what the odds are thoughhmm

gracesmum Sun 07-Oct-12 12:37:25

No anneandg it was Robert Browning:

The year’s at the spring,
And day’s at the morn;
Morning’s at seven; The hill-side’s dew-pearled;
The lark’s on the wing;
The snail’s on the thorn;
God’s in His heaven— All’s right with the world!
