DH is up and out of the house before 7! I think that's a first in all the time I've known him. He's off to shoot arrows at Bannockburn. Hope he has fun.

Anything unusual about your Sunday?

gracesmum Sun 07-Oct-12 13:44:08

Maybe you did - but you got David Cameron and we got Alex Salmond ( oh maybe I didn't meant that) - I think I'd better think it out again!grin

Greatnan Sun 07-Oct-12 13:43:49

Didn't Gally say it was a hangover, and we are not to ask?

'All's right with the world'. Really?

jeni Sun 07-Oct-12 13:41:25

gracem
I think we won at Flodden! Perhaps that's why the scots got hissy and went off on their own?hmm

jeni Sun 07-Oct-12 13:38:34

You're right nanadogsbody...the internet is my contact to the world.

moomin Sun 07-Oct-12 13:17:52

Gally - thinking of you flowers

Nanadogsbody Sun 07-Oct-12 13:13:01

You might be quarantined for five days vamps but unless your computer gets a bug too you can still talk to GNetters all over the civilised world... and some from the uncivilised world too! hmm

vampirequeen Sun 07-Oct-12 13:08:40

The sun is shining but I'm quarantined now for five days so feeling even more sorry for myself.....well would be if I could keep up the feeling sorry for myselfsmile

Grannylin Sun 07-Oct-12 13:07:24

Rise! Love that song by Gabrielle, it's shaken me out of a few sad times.
Gally wine or maybe brew would be better.smile

Ella46 Sun 07-Oct-12 12:58:57

Gally sunshine and flowers

It's dgd3 first birthday bash today, lots of the 'other' family, and on my sons side just me and my first ex and his partner.
I get on with her really well but he just rudely ignores me and reawakens all the feelings of being bullied.
After 20 years you'd think that the feelings would be long gone, but it always gets to me in the last few hours before I go!
I shall rise above it! grin

gracesmum Sun 07-Oct-12 12:38:11

Oops - just read the rest of the thread and quite a few people beat me to it!smile What a well-read bunch we are!!

gracesmum Sun 07-Oct-12 12:37:25

No anneandg it was Robert Browning:

The year’s at the spring,
And day’s at the morn;
Morning’s at seven; The hill-side’s dew-pearled;
The lark’s on the wing;
The snail’s on the thorn;
God’s in His heaven— All’s right with the world!

gracesmum Sun 07-Oct-12 12:32:33

Oh dear, Bags, while I hate to rain on your DH's parade, but the battle was a wee while ago and he might have missed the action.grin
PS I think we won about 2-nil but I understand there is to be a rematch at Flodden? Not sure what the odds are thoughhmm

baubles Sun 07-Oct-12 12:25:56

Bags Sun 07-Oct-12 12:24:38

Gally Sun 07-Oct-12 12:23:27

Elegran That was my Dad's favourite poem - he wrote it in my autograph book when I was about 8. I had it inscribed on the back of the service sheet at his funeral. I am having a really bad day and that has cheered me up a bit smile

jeni Sun 07-Oct-12 12:14:29

Elegran Sun 07-Oct-12 11:21:34

moomin your sun is my sun, isn't it a lovely day ?
Nothing unusual about my day, I am doing what I do every Sunday, visiting the DGC. Today though I am expecting eldest to say to me "do you know Grandma, I am going to see Disney on ice on Saturday" I know she is I bought the tickets and gave up a weekend away to look after GD2 because their Daddy is at star camp that weekend smile

anneandgraham Sun 07-Oct-12 11:04:46

happy Sunday to everyone!!sunshine

Elegran Sun 07-Oct-12 10:31:14

Sun is shining here. DS will be here later to walk with me through the woods to the hidden Walled Garden (a lovely peaceful place) after which we will walk a couple of hundred yards further and meet up with DD2 and family for a Sunday lunch out.

moomin Sun 07-Oct-12 09:51:06

Gorgeous morning here too! Decorator here for an early start and soon the colour will be going up on our new room. Washing on, line out ready, off to walk to the shop to collect the Sunday paper.

Hope the sun is shining on you all sunshine

I am about to leave the forum for an hour and a quarter, as I have to listen to The Archer's Omnibus on line. I normally listen to it on my TV at home, whilst surfing, but Juragran's TV does not get Radio 4. I will be back......
