The people on this site have given me so much, directly and indirectly, in the short time that I've been a member.

I've read some of the older threads and had lots of 'me too' moments. I'm not close geographicaly or emotionally to my family, by which I mean mother, siblings and extended family. Because of psychological difficulties I don't really have close friends, (my own doing I'm sure). This is not meant as a 'poor me' plea but more a realisation that many people have had similar problems and experiences but have dealt with them and come through with their self esteem intact.

My resolution is to grow and learn and live as useful a life as I'm able to.

I hope all this doesn't sound gushing, I don't mean it to.

not sure if there is any one in my neck of the woods which is on the coast in Essex Frinton on sea.

YOu all seem to be midlands, yorkshire or around there??

Think one lady I know on here is Norwich nearest to me I think.

Biker we north west Gransnetters are getting together soon and it would be fabulous if you could join us. anno and I are gong to check out a venue right by the M60/Trafford Centre - just about to sort it out. It has good public transport links and loads of easy parking, and we can sit and chat after lunch for as long as we want. More soon smile

Baubles I'm in the very happy position of having good friends and close family, BUT there is something very special about the support, encouragement, fun, debate etc. that I get from the GN community. Meeting up with some of you this week really did feel surreal, but also an enormous privilege, so I do understand what you mean. I don't know how 'close' we can be in our virtual world, but I already do feel a particular closeness to many of the people I've met on GN and I hope you do to; closeness isn't so much a geographical feature as an emotional one I think. flowers
