Kindred spirits! DH and I are always cursing them - he says they're made out of barbed wire! And lately there's a trend towards an entire concertina file of labels in every language under the sun. But the ones at the back of the neck are the worst. So no matter how soft or gorgeous the fabric of the item of clothing may be - they st*ff it up by putting on those damn labels [gr]

Never thought of complaining, gracesmum, but I hate those labels as well! A lot of them seem to be sewn in with nylon thread, which irritates my neck even more, but I usually manage to remove the lot with tiny scissors and grim determination.....
If you manage to snip the end stitch it makes it easier.

I know I am a person of enormous refinement and sensitivity (!) but surely I am not alone in hating those labels manufacturers put at the back of the neck of jumpers etc?
They seem to be made out of recycled razor blades and sewn in with invisible fairy stitches so that unless I am very very lucky careful, I end up nicking a stitch and get a b****y hole! I use the seam ripper from my sewing machine, look over the top of the varifocals and stand by a bright light or window and it is still a struggle. Failure to do this results in raw red sore patch on back of neck and extreme irritation.
Why do they do it? Has anyone ever tried to complain (and got anywhere)??
