aha there you are relichunter have you found your feet yet, welcome smile

Marelli Wed 10-Oct-12 21:32:46

Have you something that you're interested in talking about? Have a look at the list of 'threads' and if you're interested in any of the things being spoken about, just add your opinion to something. People are talking about all sorts of things and it's always nice to have a new person on the forum. smile

Marelli Wed 10-Oct-12 21:39:59

You'll often find people talking about subjects such as those - and they're not boring things, by the way!
We discuss all manner of things, so have a look and see if you'd like to comment on something.

Ana Wed 10-Oct-12 22:09:44

There isn't a specific 'chat' facility on this site, relichunter - we just go from topic to topic and add our comments. You'll get the hang of it! smile

Hi relichunter.

I have to ask because I detect a bit of a dialect in your writing, are you from my dear old somerset by any chance. Don't say where you live as that is personal and you don't want to say too much too soon.

G.N. can be uplifting and comforting, you will soon find out those you feel share your temperament and interests. Take your time to watch and look at the threads, a thread is what you are on now by the way.

I only started to use a computer recently and my daughter said to join G.N. so I too was a virgin using sites such as G.N. I am only just learning by default and stubborness how to get around the technology but never be afraid to ask for help, it is always offered by other G.N.'s

Look forward to seeing you post again. smile

Hi Relichunter, welcome to Gransnet.

Grannyknot Thu 11-Oct-12 10:35:43

I think relic that you may think this is live, online chat where you get an instant response... it's not like that. It's more like you post something, then nod off for a while, wait for people to respond (or not) and then you can reply again if you feel like it. A bit like playing Scrabble with my OH in bed! grin

AlieOxon Thu 11-Oct-12 10:49:08

Others here are interested in history - me for one. NOT boring!
I started with my family, but I seem to go back and back, and off on side tracks, but it's all fascinating.

(Come to that, GN, why haven't we got a History section? We have just added the Science one, come on, give us a History one!)

Ana Thu 11-Oct-12 10:52:26

There isn't a Nature/Animals one either - I would have put my squirrel thread on that if there had been!
