Thought I'd be organised this year and check how many C*******s cards and rolls of wrapping paper I have BEFORE I order anymore but I can't find them anywhere. Has anyone seen them? confused

Something found - my sister found a pair of pretty little amethyst and turquoise earrings in a jeweller's box in her airing cupboard. She had no recollection of buying them or being given them. Her husband said he'd never bought them either. The mystery endures, but I was presented with the earrings!

The one advantage of living in a small flat is that things can't get too lost!
Now retired, with time to investigate cupboards, etc. all is revealed. Mind you, it's often a great surprise - when did I buy that and then duplicate it?!
So even with a tiny place it's still possible, sadly. Organisation a ' work in progress '. Smile

Alie I can beat you on that sweetie, when Albert Dock opened to public after the regeneration years ago and all small fancy shop's took over the ground floor area a super little shop selling very lovely decorations opened,I could not help myself and bought a big bag of them all with different initials on for DGCs and DCs who lived at home at the time, well says I,I will keep them somewhere safe so they won't get damaged I even unwrapped them and rewrapped them in tissue paper and tied the bag with a big red bow so I would know what they where, and do you know what ? never to be seen again the case of the disappearing christmas bag had us wondering for years and I always wonder if the bag fell below the gap under the stairs and is still laying there waiting to be opened and put on someone's special tree,as we sold that house in 2001 before our move abroad. To make matters worse the stupid shop closed down the next year so I could not replace anything.

Try thinking of this before you go to sleep, your subconscious may help...

Mind you, I haven't found the box of decorations I had three years ago! I borrowed some, having returned these last year I bought more, and now I STILL don't know where my other ones are!
And they aren't any of these places.....

Have you tried asking them where they are? It's supposed to help. And you have to name them, aloud. You can swear at them as well if it makes you feel better. I hope they come out soon!

kitty smile that is where I keep mine.

Tattynan I love themes too it stops me dithering for ages thinking about which card to send to a particular person. They also have to be 'Charity cards'.
Glad you've found yours Kitty.

If the link works - you might find Pam Ayres' poem Heaps of Stuff apposite.

Kittylester this is the perfect excuse to buy more cards and wrapping paper! What theme shall we go with this year - winter sparkle. pixies and elves, scandinavian red, holly and ivy or silver reindeers? Have fun.smile

Grannyeggs Wed 17-Oct-12 19:49:12

Try the cupboard on the landing under old wrapping paper and blue tack, that's where I hope I've put mine

Grannyeggs Wed 17-Oct-12 19:48:51

In the cupboard on the landing in the bag with the blue tack and some Christmas ribbon, that's where I hope mine is confused

Nelliemoser Wed 17-Oct-12 19:28:29

A Safe Place is where you put them! Safe Places are where you put everything you can no longer find! Instead of leaving them on the sideboard or behind the clock on the mantelpiece we put them in a Safe Place. It's not the things we can't find its the safe places. confused

I went and bought National Trust C-cards at a 20% discount. Shortly after I got them home, I remembered I had - months ago - already bought some Unicef ones in a sale. So I have probably got enough cards to last at least two years - if I can remember where I've put them!

kittylester Wed 17-Oct-12 17:43:09
