Under the spare room bed?

The S.O. always asks me at times like this 'when did you last see them?' It always infuriates me because the reply is [obviously] 'if I knew that I'd know where it was'. However, at the risk of stating the obvious, if you can't see them, they're somewhere where you can't see. Under the bed? In the loft?

Nope - there is another bed under there.

Nor are they in the pine blanket boxes that we use as coffee tables which is where they SHOULD be.

Haha! I did this last year, kitty. I found my box of xmas cards yesterday!

If you go out today and buy some more I can guarantee that you'll find them when you get home .

I actually knew where all my stuff was, but only because it emerged in the Great Unpacking. Where Theseus had put it all now is another matter.

Buy new and they will turn up happens to me every year I now have enough C Cards until I fall off the tree

In the darkest recess of the spare room wardrobe. Have you tried the top of the bookcase, thats where I found mine - heaven only knows how they got there!

Approach the blanket boxes very quietly, thinking hard about how much you would like to find your sunglasses and sun cream, then fling up the lids and see if the Cxxxxxxx cards etc have sneaked back in where they should be.

I used to have this problem.
Until I hit on the idea of writing on my new calendar, where my January bargains are stored. So looking at December 2012 I can see I have cards sored in the unit in the dining room, but I need to "buy more man paper" i.e. something that's not "cutsie"

You could of course do this on 1st Dec on your phone, ipad etc.

jane I can't remember whether I had any left or if it was one of the years when we had to resorted to sending children's ones (with really cute reindeer with stuck on buttons for noses!) to the most highbrow people we know

I'm going with the poltergeist theory but I will try sneaking up on the boxes. Trouble is, we have four so they could quite easily go from one, to the next, while we are looking in the first one! I suppose I could try with 4 people, opening boxes all at once!

They are where I keep mine and forget to look before I buy more ..... in or near the box where you keep the tree decorations, tinsel, etc.

No, river that's where they -should- be, in the boxes with everything else. The thing is, I always keep the cards we received in the previous year and they aren't there either!
