Do you still have dreams for your future?

I still have dreams of the big idea. Have had a few over the years. One was scuppered by ex. One by large company who stole the idea when I (we) approached them. Another never got off the ground when I was Ill but is still lurking! I still have grand schemes in my head, some are only possible with money which I ain't got and some may still be achievable. I have ideas all the time but when others laugh it puts you off a bit.

I still hope I might be on dragons den one day...only 66, lots of ideas to come yet. I have another scheme in my head at moment and at least it keeps my brain active and the excitement going.

Funny, as am a very practical down to earth kind of person but written down this all sounds as though I am a dreamer who will never achieve, but I think I have in so many ways so not unhappy. The real trouble is that just living your life gets in the way unless you are really hard headed and focused or have incredible backup. I always said I needed a wife!!

The only reason I don't have dreams for my future is that I am very happy with my life just as it is! I will move my location, but my activities will be the same plus some new ones which will be possible in New Zealand, and I will be able to be with my loving family. The kind of dreams I was thinking about were those involving new career opportunities or perhaps meeting a new partner, neither of which I want or need.

The day I stop having dreams, and plans for the future is the day I die.

Oh, I would like to dance again...ballroom or rock'n'roll!

I have done the elephant trek - very uncomfortable. I passed on the camel ride - it looked even more uncomfortable. I would like to dance once more with a good ballroom dancer, and dance on roller skates again.

I dream of riding a camel, in the desert, Lawrence style. Or sitting on an elephants neck walking through an Indian jungle. These are my silly dreams which are possibly still achievable. Maybe. I also have sensible dreams centred around my family. Got some super memories too. How lucky is that!

Never to old to have dreams either for yourself or those you love.

No big dreams - just to be healthy and learn to live in the moment instead of worrying so much! Have been worrying for 60 years - it is time to stop. Easier said than done. ayse good luck with your OU. I am an OU addict and think it is a brilliant institution.

I have a dream house and have built it on computer, but I know it won't be real.

I want to go to Dublin. Family history stuff!

I would like to finish the story I was writing.............

My dream for myself for the future is to LIVE till I die.

I'm a bit of a lurker and find it quite a challenge to write on forums, however I started an OU degree last year and would love to prove to myself that I can do it. My counsellor asked me what I would like to do with it. Had a quick think and I would very much like to do some voluntary service overseas or something similar. This will depend on DH but I reckon it would be a real challenge. I'd like to go somewhere that old people are not treated as though they are stupid! I'm just looking forward to retirement in 2 years time (if the government doesn't change the goal posts again).

I am also still having wonderful experiences, and trying out new things, but I was thinking more of total lifestyle changes, or things you hope to accomplish.

I have dreams. I'm still having experiences and making new memories. I don't want to dwell on my past. That's not forgotten but long gone. Today is here and is what I make of it. The future is still in my dreams and anything is possible.

I still hope to grow up, I would like to be taller and I might yet learn to swim well, but I fear I am possibly (!) fooling myself. I try not to dwell on all the dreams I might have cherished in my younger days - that way lies madness - but prefer now to live for the moment and not look too far into the future as I almost certainly won't like what I see
I have hoper that our DC and DGC will have happy fulfilled lives, but the optimism of youth? I don't let it fool me any more!!
