Jane x to you and the parents of the soldier

kittylester Mon 12-Nov-12 14:18:49

Soop that's very kind of you but I'm not there!! I couldn't do the labelling on all of the photos and can't find one of me in all the stuff on FB. The very pregnant one is DD3 with her two sisters - the bride (DD2) and DD3. Actually, DD3 is only 20 weeks so heaven help her when she is full term.

The little flowergirl is the daughter of the bride and groom (why do they do things back to front?) and is only 17 months old. The photo of the family is DD1 and SiL, with the pageboy (DGS1) and the other flower girl (DGG1).

bags you sound as though you had a great weekend too! smile

kitty Trust me to get it wrong. Anyway, the photos are lovely. A very special day for the family. flowers

I should be lucky enough to look like my tall, slim, elegant, 37 year old daughter, soop as opposed to my shorter, plumper, inelegant, 63 year old self. flowers

Lovely photos Kitty.
Have uploaded a couple of wedding photo's, including one of me with my 'boys', they described me as their 'mother in lieu' when people were asking about our relationship - I like it! I was thrilled to have my boy from Taiwan fly home for the wedding - I've been his English 'mum' for over ten years. The handsome young man on the right lost his own mum to cancer when he was in his teens and the boy on the far left is currently living with us. Fortunately my own sons also regard my 'boys' as their own brothers so there is no jealousy.

Lovely photos ga and kitty.
I had a lovely 'present' today.
My DGD and DGS live in the States and although we saw them in the summer, I do miss them very much.
Today I got an email from DDiL's mother who lives near them and sees them quite a lot.
She said that when DGD goes to her house, her favourite thing is to be pushed in the swing while she pretends to be Captain S, flying her big plane over the sea to see Grandma Jane and Grandpa Ian, and play in the garden with Cousin L.
It's just nice, after feeling a little bit sidelined, to know that at 2y 9m she not only remembers us but we feature in her imagination too smile

That`s what I get for skim reading, must stop it! Lovely photos also, Ga.

Marelli Mon 12-Nov-12 17:28:15

Lovely photos, GA! Keep yourself well - have a bit of a rest now?

annodomini Mon 12-Nov-12 17:46:41

Lovely present janeain. smile

kittylester Tue 13-Nov-12 09:52:39

jane I just had a similarly lovely present. I was standing in the front garden, straight out of the shower and with dripping hair, with the lovely lady who is 'putting our garden to bed' when my 13 year old sortofgrandson rushed up the drive and announced 'I can't stop because I'll be late for school but I've caught you with wet hair again!!', gave me a huge hug and kiss and disappeared! smile

janeainsworth Tue 13-Nov-12 14:13:07

kittysmilehe sounds a lovely lad.
You have just reminded me that I should be putting my garden to bed, as well as making a sweet for our Book Club's pooled supper this evening!

kittylester Tue 13-Nov-12 15:23:03

I've just uploaded the best of a bad job of photos of DH and I (and the groom's parents). Hopefully the official photos will be better and more flattering. grin I'd like everyone to know that I made the MoG's hat!

Marelli Tue 13-Nov-12 15:37:50

They're lovely , kitty! And so is MoG's hat - you are very talented! smile

grannyactivist Tue 13-Nov-12 15:51:21

Hooray, I'm up and dressed today and even ventured out for a brief spell. (As in time - not grin). The honeymooners have returned home to take up residence on the top floor and have already made themselves useful by getting a fire going for me. I've managed to upload a couple more photo's; one of me and one of my sons and daughter. I can't change the order, but I have finally managed to get them to a size that I can see without straining my eyes.

grannyactivist Tue 13-Nov-12 15:52:33

Kitty are you in black and white dress or long black skirt?

JessM Tue 13-Nov-12 15:55:25

janeainsworth flowers - I empathise.
A minor milestone chez jess. Our enigmatic next door neighbour (he spends most of his time in Africa we think}, with whom we share a drive, has got rid of the two dead cars . I thought they were going to be there until the sun froze over. A kind of tolerance challenge for us.
All that remains is an engine from the previous dead car, cunningly camoflaged with a reflective jacket and some other assorted rubbish. This is a huge improvement, sharing the shared drive with just one car instead of 3. grin
