Pans in dishwashers!

15 years ago when we had our kitchen refitted I treated myself to a set of copper saucepans that all have iron handles. When I puit them in the dishwasher I found that the handles got very rusty so they do not go in the DW anymore. I just stack them up in the sink, fill them with hotwater and detergent and leave them overnight. Previously I had had stainless steel and enamel pans which I always put in the dishwasher without any problem.

Do you put pans in your dishwasher?

Having had a series of dishwashers over the years, I have always put everything possible in on the basis that it keeps the kitchen tidier and saves me work! Obviously, I don't put old china or 'good' glasses in but I keep hearing about people who don't put pans in either.

What do you put in you dishwasher and, if you don't put pans in, why not? What am I missing? confused
