Oh dear - I'm a bit confused with this thread.

Anyway, I'm an Antipodean Yorkie who loves to talk to anyone and everyone: other Aussies and Kiwis understand a bit more about where I live, of course, so it is nice to talk to them. But at heart I'm English through and through, which is why I love this forum.

I sometimes think my leftie, atheist posts might get me sent to the doghouse too (well, in this house the dog house is the laundry room - not a lot of room for me when our over-fed retriever is in residence though) but it hasn't happened yet. It is hard to offend me, as I tend to think any challenging post is just a great opening for debate. Blame my family - always argumentative.

Remember how people used to get 'sent to Coventry' when they'd outraged their fellow workers? I wonder if that expression is still used. Wouldn't like to go there - well, not to the metaphorical Coventry anyway. Nor to the doghouse. Anyway, I'd get lost on the way, 'cos I'm easily confused.

At the risk of offending anyone who lives there (None came to the Midlands meet) don't go to Coventry, its not the most beautiful place in the Midlands although of course the cathedral is worth a visit.

I was always the last to be picked for team games (We're not having her - we had her last week) and I had to be goalie in netball, which meant just standing around freezing cold. How I hated the PE teacher - I continued to hate them when I was teaching with them!
So if we are having a rugby team, I will do the orange slices (is that rugby?)

I seem to be in the doghouse at work. Why is it that, no matter how hard you work, how much time and effort you put into your job [I've spent the past two weekends sleeping most of the time to recover], how many times you drop everything in your own life to help out, there is always someone who goes out of their way to make you unhappy. There's one in every business isn't there? That's a statement, not a question by the way but I'm so brassed off I've forgotten the word. And then I get home and, just as I'm about to tuck into my well earned dinner I get a call from someone to tell me there's a fault in my computer and, if I just turn it on they will talk me through the problem . They chose the wrong time and the wrong person to try that one on with today, methinks . Apologies, by the way; just needed to let off steam. Feel better now. Ithanku. Aha; rhetorical!!!

Oh Crimson so sorry you had such a bad day, what an ungrateful lot you work with! I do agree there are people out there who seem to get some sort of buzz from hurting people but I just don't get it. Why? If someone can explain to me why anyone would diliberately hurt someone else it would answer something I have always wanted to know.

I hope the pressure of the steam has all gone now but if they do it again then this seems to be a good place to sound off. why isn't this emoticon a whole bottle?

Oh Greatnan I know just what you mean. I would love to race you. Play tennis with you! Jump over hurdles etc. I might just find someone who I stood half a chance of beating sharing last place with.

How I detested team sports. I could never catch or hit a rounders ball or understand the rules of netball. The memory of school sports haunts me still.

I will "watch" the Gransnet rugby team's handbags!

There must be someone else on G'net who did enjoy games at school. I didn't like netball but loved hockey.
