I think that's horrid. Ingenious but horrid. I'm sorry that people feel the need to make traps for chavs. I'm sorry that there are people who want to kick walls in. I suspect that the film is a spoof.

Jodi Mon 10-Dec-12 08:34:26

Was it not simply that his mates were filming him on their mobiles?
I don't see it as a set up. With that type of fencing if you remove one section the one above fall into the space below.

Bags Mon 10-Dec-12 08:39:12

The type in the film.

Bags Mon 10-Dec-12 08:39:38

The upper slabs are only held up by the lower ones.

Jodi Mon 10-Dec-12 08:45:14

Wasn't that what I said?

Bags Mon 10-Dec-12 08:49:50

Yes. I misread where the question mark was. Oops.

Bags Mon 10-Dec-12 08:50:34

But even chavs would see....

Well, maybe not. Give them a Darwin award.

Still horrid.

Bags Mon 10-Dec-12 08:52:52

It's just odd that he kicked the one that would give way in a whole fence. Spoof. I reckon he'd have screamed louder than that too.

Jodi Mon 10-Dec-12 08:58:43

You're too kind bags I just see it as divine retribution for some nasty little trainee thug.

Or I would if I believed in any sort of divinity, which I don't grin but I still celebrate Christmas - it's a good old pagan fest!

petallus Mon 10-Dec-12 09:19:10

Agree with Bags it's horrid.

Hate the word 'chavs' incidentally.

Jodi 'divine retribution for some nasty little trainee thug*

Sorry to say I find that comment horrid as well.

vampirequeen Mon 10-Dec-12 09:31:55

Why is it horrid? If he hadn't been vandalising the wall and showing off to his friends it wouldn't have happened. Obviously it was one of his friends who posted it on youtube.

janeainsworth Mon 10-Dec-12 09:41:07

Bags have you morphed into jO5?
With separate posts for each sentence I mean.
What about the people on the other side of the fence whose property was being damaged?

Bags Mon 10-Dec-12 09:48:07

No, I've always been like that, jane smile

Bags Mon 10-Dec-12 09:48:22

Think in jerks, y'know.

Bags Mon 10-Dec-12 09:48:36

Post in jerks too.

Bags Mon 10-Dec-12 09:49:23

We don't know anything about the people on the other side, or even if there were any. 'We' are making assumptions based on very little information.

Bags Mon 10-Dec-12 09:50:16

Besides, if it really was a trap, it looks as if 'the people on the other side' can look after themselves, if somewhat horribly.

Anne58 Mon 10-Dec-12 09:55:27

I hate mindless vandalism, just can't see what anyone gets out of destroying other peoples property.

However I do admit to really enjoying a visit to the bottle bank, especially when it has been recently emptied. I always feel rather disappointed when it's full, and you have to sort of "wedge" the bottles in, without that rather satisfying pause followed by a resonating smashing noise! blush

Grannylin Mon 10-Dec-12 10:01:20

Oh yes phoenix I agee about the simple joy of lobbing bottles into the bottle bank grin

Bags Mon 10-Dec-12 10:05:48

Me too, except we have our own glass wheelie bin now.

My dad, an academic, thoroughly enjoyed removing a fireplace from a wall... sledgehammer, pickaxe. Mum was scathing but quite right that he wouldn't have wanted to do such work on a regular basis grin

annodomini Mon 10-Dec-12 10:20:31

Bags, the mind boggles about the idea of a 'glass wheelie bin'. grin
