Creativity?

We all have a creative side, but we express in different ways. For me it is gardening, writing and deciding which clothes to wear together. My adventures in crochet seem to be on hold. How do you express your creative side?

I really wish I had one Jess I am the least creative person that I know apart from, maybe, DD2 and my Mum.

DH, DS1, DS2, DD1 and DD3 are very creative which they get from DH's mother, or so he tells me wink

C'mon "Kitty" The first time I asked myself this question I was stumped. Until I remembered the garden.

jeni Sat 15-Dec-12 16:43:22

Sounds Kitty as if your creativity is procreation smile

Ana Sat 15-Dec-12 16:44:19

jeni! grin

Movedalot Sat 15-Dec-12 16:51:22

None at all! It missed me and my children got double doses. smile

kittylester Sat 15-Dec-12 16:53:36

I couldn't even do that on my own jeni wink

I dunno kitty there were some rumours about a virgin birth in Leicester as I recall grin
You say funny things sometimes, and that's creative.
But come on GN'ners - don't let this turn into another "I can't" thread in which y'all put yourselves down.

Singing, running choirs, crochet, photography, knitting. Can't get enough of them all! I owuld be lost without them!

But I cannot paint or draw for toffee, unlike my DD2 who is brilliant at it (I am biassed!).

Cooking Kitty and movealot ?

Movedalot Sat 15-Dec-12 17:50:41

Jess I used to cook but now only do special occassions since himself took over. Not much good at anything really.

Nelliemoser Sat 15-Dec-12 19:22:02

I am not artistic as in being able to paint. I do think I can be quite inventive in practical matters. When the children were small I could get together imaginative fancy dress.

I have what I call my engineering solutions mode. Think about the "Problem" Think about what is needed to do the job and how you could make it or what you could do to adapt and improve it.

I can mend things quite well. DH insists my ideas will never work, but they do. A sliding stair gate, Lawn Drainage. Trunking to get power from the garage to my garden. I mended my late Dads hearing aid tube a few times by using the plastic sheaths from 3 core cable. DH cannot do the "think outside the box routine" at all.

I missed my opportunity really. Dyson got there first. smile

Garden design, decorating, doing up old furniture, choral singing and cooking. Never could get enthusiastic about any form of needlework but admire other people's beautiful work.

annodomini Sat 15-Dec-12 20:26:39

Can knit, cook and write and that's about it. Three of my GC are creative - it remains to be seen what the other two can do. The gene didn't come from me, though one of my grannies was could draw and embroider beautifully and GF and GGF were writers.

Ana Sat 15-Dec-12 20:32:48

Having thought about this, I've realised that I seem to have let my creative hobbies lapse - I used to enjoy embroidery and glass-painting but since the GDs were born I've never felt as though I had the time. New Year resolution, perhaps?

merlotgran Sat 15-Dec-12 22:07:55

Is anyone on here creative?
Can you knit, crochet, solder or sew?
Can you cook up a banquet or patch up a blanket?
Can you make an igloo out of snow?
Can you play a sonata or sing a cantata?
Do all your plants always blossom and grow?
Can you cook singing hinny in a bright tie-dyed pinny?
Can you ‘capture’ a stream in full flow?
OR
Do your cakes fail to rise, are there tears in your eyes
When your jellies run over the floor?
Do your jumpers unravel and peas taste like gravel,
Are seashells best left on the shore?
Does your voice take a course that would frighten a horse?
Does your snowman just melt in a thaw?
You don’t really care, why tear out your hair,
When it’s all for a laugh after all? grin

annodomini Sat 15-Dec-12 22:30:28

merlot, there is no doubt about your creativity. That is brilliant! flowers

jO5 Sat 15-Dec-12 22:32:19

I've given up creativity.

Someone else can do it for me.

merlotgran Sat 15-Dec-12 22:42:25

Thanks, anno. I'm afraid Mr. Merlot is being very naughty about 'capturing a stream in full flow' shock I might have known!

Sook Sat 15-Dec-12 22:59:50

Brilliant merlotgran
