gracesmum I could of course lower the tone by suggesting that in that instance KY jelly might have been considered an alternative product to alleviate the symptom, but of course I wouldn't.

Sel, I thank you for the compliment, and will try to have look at Saturday Night Live US. By the way, you may have been doing your bondage bonding thing when I posted a spoof round robin on another thread, you will have to excuse me if you have already seen it, this being at home malarkey isn't doing my brain any good at all.

phoenix you're priceless. So funny grin If you've got a mo, Google Saturday Night Live from the US, their spoof ads are sooo funny. I can't remember the name but there's one for sanitary protection that really lasts!

Or "Roger, you were looking quite tight the other night"??

I didn't know there was a product to counteract that other than Alka-Seltzergrin

It gets worse, "Expert at being a man" ??? Good grief, how much did they pay an ad agency to come up with that one?

According to an advertisement currently running, it would seem that men don't age they become "fatigued".

L'Oreal have a range of skin care products for men, the "Men Expert Hydra Energetic Anti-Fatigue Moisturiser", to name but one.

Apparently it "helps fight the 5 signs of skin fatigue" namely:
1. LOOKS DULL
2. FEELS DRY
3. FEELS ROUGH
4. FEELS LESS FIRM
5. FEELS TIGHT
(the capital letters are theirs, by the way, copied from the newspaper advertisement)

Now, I'm no scientist, but if you consider point 4 in the list, surely if something is less firm, then it might be considered wobbly or slack, in which case if the skin felt point 5 after using, then that might be considered a "good thing" ?

So, in conclusion, products are marketed to women under the "anti-ageing" banner, but to men as "anti-fatigue".

I can just see it now, two chaps meeting in the street after one of them has been using the products " Oh Roger, you ARE looking well, I didn't like to mention it, but last time I bumped into you, I thought to myself, "Trevor, Roger is starting to look quite fatigued these days" and now here you are not looking fatigued at all! What is your secret?"

On the other hand, perhaps not.............
