Seeing OGM's thread made me think about what other GNs wear on Christmas Day.

I personally don't understand the concept of buying something new and lovely just so I can spill turkey fat on it blush

What do you wear?

FlicketyB Tue 18-Dec-12 22:02:41

Do not know what I will be wearing, whatever falls out of the wardrobe probably, but I will be decorated with some green earrings that look like Christmas baubles and a brooch shaped like a Christmas wreath with flashing lights.

Actually I liked the deputy captain who has now gone to the QM Hamish! He's a northerner and has a lovely wife Fiona!

This one's a bit posh with a very plummy voice for me! I liked the old one Captain Wells!

Ana Tue 18-Dec-12 17:57:02

They obviously don't trust you anywhere near the captain, jeni! grin

I don't do captains table! It seems to be only for couples.
I have 7 long dresses with me. Mainly phase 8 bought in sales. I do have a very glittery gold sequin jacket though!

Not sure if you are still there Jeni but have a lovely time.

I imagine you in something long and glittering at the captain's table.

grannyactivist Tue 18-Dec-12 15:52:29

I don't plan to wear anything on Christmas day. (Please note the emphasis is on the word 'plan.) grin

baubles Tue 18-Dec-12 15:46:16

Haven't a scooby! Anything that is comfortable, clean & ironed (that may limit my options somewhat) grin

Travelling by train to spend Christmas with DD in London.Using a walking stick I can only manage a very small rucksack so apart from clothes to travel in I'll borrow anything else I need from DD. No idea what I'll be wearing on Christmas day!

Does anyone still wear long gloves? I haven't seen a pair for years!

jeni Tue 18-Dec-12 14:18:52

Tomorrow morning[dancing jeni] emoticon
Or should that be a [spinning jenny] emoticon?

kittylester Tue 18-Dec-12 14:10:35

Stop showing off jeni or I shall be tempted to do a Fanny Craddock and cook in full evening gear, including elbow length gloves! grin Anyway, shouldn't you be gone by now? [fworried]

Ariadne Tue 18-Dec-12 13:33:22

jeni beautiful - enjoy it! When do you go?

gracesmum Tue 18-Dec-12 13:29:46

Well I think you would all look drop dead gorgeous in a onesie grin (Or does that belong in the thread "What absolutely not to wear"?

annodomini Tue 18-Dec-12 13:26:20

PJs for present opening and then longish skirt with slightly glitzy jumper, before DS2 and partner turn up with her mother. grin

Granny23 Tue 18-Dec-12 12:44:25

I shall spend PART 1 (Brunch and present opening) in my Christmas pyjamas and PART 2 (dinner @ DD2's house with supper at DD1's house) in a chamois SKIRT with tiny red flowers and new fine red jumper - like to make an effort once in a yeargrin

shysal Tue 18-Dec-12 12:32:15

Black NYDJ jeans and red jumper with Christmas slippers (DD has no-shoes rule). All bought cheaply on ebay. Have a tartan jacket to smarten up outfit if required (also ebay, 99p!)
Handy hint -lighter fuel takes out grease spots easily. I always keep a can in the kitchen, away from heat of course!

jeni Tue 18-Dec-12 12:29:01

It's formal in the evening so a red long dress with a gold sequinned jacket and gold jewellery
