Just popped in to say Bye. It's been nice knowing you. If it doesn't end Happy Christmas to you all and see you next year. wine

Hi

It says in MSN if we are here now the world will not be ending.
I am pleased about this as I want to enjoy my pension for another 60 years and possibly become a great great grandad when I am alive.
Oddly enough when I was in a cafe yesterday a man said I have missed a lot of fun by having only granddaughters.
As long as they are in good health I do not care about this.
I have got 2 son's in law now but all my male blood relatives are 55+.

vampirequeen

If the world does end Peter will be very busy today.

Barrow Fri 21-Dec-12 08:35:11

vampirequeen I don't have to worry about talking my way in - my DH is going to get me in under the fence - we will be just round the back if you want to join us grin

Movedalot Fri 21-Dec-12 08:54:05

Plenty of time to get your hair done, eat the mince pies or whatever it must be Mayan 1111, not UK. I make that some time early tomorrow morning but geography is not my subject. confused

I'm off to collect DH's presecription and then the supermarket just in case........................

Or I might see you all at the gates, Are we wearing something to identify GNs? grin

To be honest, I was satisfied with the end of The News of the World.

kittylester Fri 21-Dec-12 09:42:39

Apparently, some Shamen (sp?) are chanting to prevent it happening. So, if we are still here tomorrow, should we all become shamen? confused

vampirequeen Fri 21-Dec-12 09:54:27

They worked it out to 11.12am our time. Though I'm not sure how as the Mayans didn't say anything about hours and minutes.

Ella46 Fri 21-Dec-12 09:58:40

I think we're ok, as someone on fb said 'it's already tomorrow in Australia!'

[phew]

Ana Fri 21-Dec-12 09:59:24

How long after 11.12 will it be until the next End of the World date is predicted? grin

Mamie Fri 21-Dec-12 10:05:35

Well that is how it works isn't it? When the world doesn't end the doomsdayers will say. "That is because we chanted / prayed / meditated / stood in a cardboard box and sang jingle bells etc"....

Ana Fri 21-Dec-12 11:14:15

Looks like we're all still here, then! hmm

Elegran Fri 21-Dec-12 11:15:12

So far, so good......

Granny23 Fri 21-Dec-12 11:16:23

Bit of a damp squib then.

Right, what's the next excuse for not getting on with the Christmas clean up?

HUNTERF Fri 21-Dec-12 11:41:10

A small bang happened by me about 10 minutes ago but I have looked around and can find no damage in the immediate area.
Looks as if I will be giving my granddaughters their Christmas Presents.
I have paid for my share of my daughters / son in laws /granddaughters Bupa membership renewal for another year which would have been wasted.
Hopefully they will not have to use it but it is something I want them to have.

Well we didn't sink! Just a very brief visit. We've had to miss out Oporto because of the weather. It was very very rough last night. Not sick , but I think some were!
They were forecasting 40 ft waves but it wasn't that bad. Rocked me to sleep in fact!
Regards to you all.
Just had to check the world hadn't ended for you as we'll!
From just off finnisterre.

Mamie Fri 21-Dec-12 11:57:19

Very timely to be off Finisterre for the end of the world / land! Bon voyage....

Barrow Fri 21-Dec-12 12:04:12

If the world is going to end on Mayan time it will, apparently be at 5.11 pm tonight so you still have time to finish off the mince pies/wine/cake grin

Notsogrand Fri 21-Dec-12 12:05:01

Great to hear from you jeni smile

Faye Fri 21-Dec-12 12:06:32

Last year I saw a Mayan interviewed about the Mayan calendar ending and he said he had never heard of it. grin

feetlebaum Fri 21-Dec-12 12:31:33

The meejuh have been illustrating their stories with a picture of the Mayan Calendar - only it isn't. It's neither Mayan nor a calendar - but an Aztec Sun Stone...

Well - I'm still here. You lot?

Movedalot Fri 21-Dec-12 12:44:21

Watched the programme about it last night and the Mayans had never heard of it. Anyway, if they were so bloomin clever, why were their huge cities wiped out? confused

So glad I didn't bother to posh up just in case, couldn't be scruffier as I still have the kitchen to clean grin

annodomini Fri 21-Dec-12 13:00:33

And there I was, polishing my halo! grin
