On Thursday I was rushed into a local hospital for a suspected heart attack, I was then transferred by ambulance on blues and twos to another hospital 15 miles away where they had a cardiac unit. After a couple of traumatic days in hospital, where I have had superb nursing care, an Angiogram (my arteries were clear) I have been diagnosed with Myopericarditis, for which they are treating with medication (Steroids and Paracetomol. I am home now and gently recovering. No heavy physical activity for ten to fourteen days.

Ariadne Mon 28-Jan-13 17:29:56

Well, Ian just remember to look after yourself so that you can look after him!

Ian42 Mon 28-Jan-13 17:25:36

One thing after another, dad's legs are now infected and is taking antibiotics and has to visit the nurse every other day for a dressing change. I have taken on the cooking however that will be a little difficult from next week when I hopefully return to work.

How lovely for him that he has so many family members around him for support and love

My dad is 88, however we had to call an ambulance this morning and my dad now realises he is no longer as young as his mind think and has to do less. Of my dad isn't one for sitting around all day doing nothing, he feels he has to do something. Me and my brother and mum are looking after him now. Thanks to everyone.

Try not to worry Ian42 he needs you to keep well too you know! You don't say how old he is, but swollen ankles/legs and needing water tablets is so common as we get older. flowers
