On Thursday I was rushed into a local hospital for a suspected heart attack, I was then transferred by ambulance on blues and twos to another hospital 15 miles away where they had a cardiac unit. After a couple of traumatic days in hospital, where I have had superb nursing care, an Angiogram (my arteries were clear) I have been diagnosed with Myopericarditis, for which they are treating with medication (Steroids and Paracetomol. I am home now and gently recovering. No heavy physical activity for ten to fourteen days.

You take care now, Ian42, and I hope you`re soon back to being fighting fit.

Mishap Sat 29-Dec-12 14:48:07

Phew! - what a fright - so glad to hear that you have clear arteries - it must be good to know that.

ian42 sounds as if you were/are in good hands. I always teased my husband that his first trip to hospital would be with blue lights flashing, because he would boast over the years about never having been to hospital - and sure enough, that's exactly how it happened! He needed 2 stents. Rest up and keep yourself occupied by posting on Gransnet! flowers

Thankyou all, for your lovely replies. At the moment I cannot even lift a kettle or wash up or wipe up or other housework that I sometimes have to do. I'm not really enjoying myself especially loud things, it is as though I have gone through a life changing experience without really being aware of it. Once again thankyou.

Good job you got to see The Hobbit before you were taken badly, Ian. It isn't a condition I've ever heard of but glad you're on the mend smile.

Thankyou, went to doctors about certificate to stay off work, three weeks to start and then see how it goes from there. My job is quite a physical one pushing people to and from theatre.
