Another driech, miserable, wet day here today so popped on to Gransnet and what do I find - more doom, gloom, bad news and health problems. So in an attempt to cheer us up I thought I would start a 'Review of the Year' thread to celebrate the highspots of the year past - only good things allowed (unless the bad ones are really funny with hindsight). Here goes with mine.

A brilliant sunny sunshine week with all 9 of us in a holiday cottage on Barra. Flew in a small plane and landed on shell beach, returned on ferry in a force 9 gale, which I loved grin

The Simon Bolivar/Big Noise Concert at Raploch, Stirling, in torrential rain but a wonderful, unforgettable experience. smile

Two DGC started primary school and youngest started nursery school. All so grown up, proud and smart in their school uniforms. Later 3 x magical nativity performances where they positively shone.

AND 3 x Gransnet Meet-ups - I cannot explain why these are such joyful occasions, can only say that I find myself grinning from ear to lug and can't stop. It is as if characters from a favourite book have come to life and you can chat with them and hug them - A M A Z I N G - grin

anno got the photos back on, but every time I try to upload a third picture, it goes daft. Grrrr! grin

annodomini Mon 31-Dec-12 16:04:21

I imagine your garden is about as wet as mine, when. I am having a bit of trouble trying to upload, but have resisted the temptation to give the laptop a shower. grin

whenim64 Mon 31-Dec-12 15:45:41

anno just getting my laptop out of the garden, where I threw it in my frustration!! grin I got over-confident when I managed to upload the pictures, put another one on of my eldest grandson and the whole thing crashed! I'll try and get them back on shortly x

Nellie Congratulations! The wee one's photos are beautiful. Number one is my favourite. smile

Ana Mon 31-Dec-12 15:44:37

Nellie what a character he looks! grin

Faye Mon 31-Dec-12 15:41:51

Nellie very cute. I must put some photos up of littlest GD 13 months. She is funny and laughs a lot and besides being a Dad's girl is very much a Grandma's girl. When the fridge door is opened she rushes over and sits on the inside ledge, we are not sure why.

annodomini Mon 31-Dec-12 15:29:12

What a lovely wee boy, Nelliem. He is clearly going to be a livewire. when, I couldn't see any photos at all on your profile page!

Nelliemoser Mon 31-Dec-12 15:13:04

whenim They are but the one little fellow at 3months. (His dads photos) but I love the nosiness in the first one.

whenim64 Mon 31-Dec-12 15:06:34

soop Mon 31-Dec-12 14:47:04

Whoa! NellieM I look forward to a peek...smile

Nelliemoser Mon 31-Dec-12 14:30:35

Baby posts! I am going to have to succumb to the temptation if I can work out how.

Watch out! Nelliem is attempting to go blue.

Ella Soop When and everyone else who has posted photos of their DGC - thank you so much - what a display of bonnie babies - a real tonic on a misty winter's day.

harrigran Mon 31-Dec-12 14:01:41

soop Mon 31-Dec-12 13:50:14

whenim64 Mon 31-Dec-12 13:47:56

Beautiful Ella. Such a lovely smile. There are such lovely photos of the grandchildren on here. I've managed to put a photo of my grandaughters on my profile. Struggling to get them on at present, takes ages, but will try and put more on there.

soop Mon 31-Dec-12 12:13:45

In a year that really was dragged along the bottom of the 'pit', my only joy (but a huge one) has been my favourite baby.
She has kept me going and been the light of my life. sunshine

See her gorgeous grin on the latest pic on my profile grin

soop Mon 31-Dec-12 11:55:42

Jings...heck! Now you come to mention it...blush

Anne58 Mon 31-Dec-12 10:48:04

Thanks kitty I have been thinking about something, once all the NY stuff has finished I may well be asking you all for some help & advice! [slightly mysterious emoticon]

Nelliemoser Mon 31-Dec-12 10:46:45

My highlight was my first grandchild. The little fellow is now three months old smiley and very vocal, all those lovely soft coos and excited happy squeals.
(I may think differently when he is older!)
He knows how to be really charming, but needs to learn to take his naps other than in his mums arms.smile

kittylester Mon 31-Dec-12 10:43:17

phoenix your posts have given me a lot of smiles this year (not all of them sad) so thank you for that and good luck in 2013 with the job hunting - still think you should do a blog or something. [fwine]

Anne58 Mon 31-Dec-12 10:37:38

To be honest, the only highlight that I can think of was the addition of Digby to our household, he has brought us a lot of pleasure, big soppy mog that he is!
