Made some bread, made some lentil soup, sawed, lopped and yanked a couple of dozen rhododendron branches off and shredded them, pulled a muscle in the process, divested self of wet muddy clothing including wool gloves topped by industrial strength rubber gloves, and the other paraphernalia of keeping warm and dry in Scotland in winter, showered, put a wash on, made coffee, sat down with feet up.

"Nufff d-d-day, I fink!" as DD used to say when she was two.

Still have to wash-up and make dinner but I'm slobbing until that cannot be put off any longer.

All packed! Why does the volume you packed for arrival double when being prepared for departure?
Is this some obscure law of physics I have never met?
Perhaps bags can elucidate!
Home tomorrow with unlimited wifi! [ very expensive on board]

JO5 Sorry my previous post was in Technical jargon. I will explain!

I had a new toy for Christmas and I started to play with it today. To start with it didn't work at all and I thought it was a software problem, but it wasn't the software at all, it was the hardware that was a problem!
There was a lead which needing inserting into an orifice to get it to work, but although I had inserted the lead into an orifice on new toy I had not inserted the other end into anything at all!

When I discovered this I inserted the loose end into an orifice on my older toy but it still did not work.

I eventually realised that I had inserted the lead from the new toy into the wrong orifice on my older toy. When I put it into the the
Scanner and laptop now connected and working!
What did you think I meant! grin wink

soop That poem is special for us too - DD1 chose it for her wedding.
harri do hope you're better soon.
DD2 just popped in for lunch. I made a Delia thing with homemade pesto, fresh pasta, and green beans and Parmesan. According to Delia it's over 800 calories a portion shock

Nelliemoser Sat 05-Jan-13 18:17:11

Ana innocent double entendre! I posted a full technical explanation of my computer scanner interface problem this morning at about 10:50ish, but JO5 couldn't understand the "techie" talk so I explained in simple language.
grin

annodomini Sat 05-Jan-13 18:17:56

Happy Birthday, Kitty. Cheers! wine wine wine

Ana Sat 05-Jan-13 18:36:27

Nellie, I know that! But in your last post, explaining your first one, the sentence starting "When I put it into the..." was unfinished!

Nelliemoser Sat 05-Jan-13 19:19:20

Oh bother! should have read it properly, the gremlins stole the words from my post!
"I eventually realised that I had inserted the lead from the new toy into the wrong orifice on my older toy. When I put it into the correct hole in the old toy it worked perfectly."

It made me realise how much easier and safer it was to use the "jargon" . blush

Ana Sat 05-Jan-13 19:37:46

Thank goodness that's been cleaned cleared up! smile

Bags Sat 05-Jan-13 19:41:52

Good shooting (bow 'n' arrow) today. I hope I can keep it up for tomorrow's tournament at Bannockburn (never say die! wink). Meanwhile, DH is thinking I should enter a barebow and longbow (i.e. traditional bow) outdoor tournament in Aberlour in March. It's called the Glenlivet Frost-bite Tournament. Prizes for the most 'petticoats'.

Ana Sat 05-Jan-13 19:43:51

Goodness, Bags! Nellie's technical jargon was easier to understand than that! grin What's a 'petticoat' in shooting terms?

Bags Sat 05-Jan-13 19:43:52

Well, I should really have said "Keep rubbing it in" instead of never say die, shouldn't I, since the Scots won?

Bags Sat 05-Jan-13 19:44:28

A petticoat in archery terms is the part of the target not covered by the coloured rings.

Ana Sat 05-Jan-13 19:44:57

Yes.
