Are daughters better at caring for parents?.

I think it depends on what sort of care - most people would prefer personal care to be carried out by someone of the same sex. As for the rest, I would have thought sons/daughters could do an equally good job, but I agree that it is very often regarded as being a daughter's responsibility.

well in our case our daugher who we thought would always be in our lives has cut us off and we have our Son who is not in so much regular contact as she used to be but is always there for us at important times, so I guess you never know what will happen in life.

As a rule it is the daughter, and it saddens me every time I see a Mumand daughter together for what I have lost.

I agree, or women are control freaks which could easily be my problem. grin

I shared by table with another man who was widowed and a lady today in a cafe which was full today.
The other man had 2 daughters and I have 2 daughters.
She said that we will be ok for care as we have daughters who will never let their old Dad's down where as a son is less reliable.
I am not sure if I agree as I cared for my father ( in all fairness my daughters and son in law did help out ) and I know of a few examples where sons have cared for their parents or in laws.
Do you agree with this lady or me.
