Keyboard Kindreds

It occurred to me that there are parallels between having pen pals and posting on these forums - of course there are many differences! I had pen pals way back when I was still at school and wrote these polite little letters on blue lined Basildon Bond, usually no more than 2 pages. And then you waited until you received an equally polite letter back weeks, sometimes months later. Nowadays, on GN we have a scatter gun approach (rather than carefully selecting our hopefully likeminded pen pal from the pages of Jackie or Woman's Weekly) and here we are posting on everything from "vaginacology" to messing about in Lil's Bar. I tried to come up with a modern name that explains it. Any other ideas?
