Blue Monday

The old gardening bloke whose name I can't remember, (passed away now) recommended watering in liquid metaldehyde on Valentines Day. Kills the little baby ones too. # bit mean

I'm at work and distinctly grumpy, as I'm also Doc I expect to soon be the rest of those virtually challenged fictional beings.

Thanks for cheering me up j07 regarding the slugs!!!!! I will get ALL the little b.....s this year!!!!! 6 blackbirds having a bit of punch up in garden at the moment, pidgeons just sitting on top of greenhouse watching! I am on school run this afternoon, perhaps I should take survival rations and shovel!!! No snow here yet.......

Mind you Gillybob , we are off to Bournville , Thursday , so will be on school run for a few days .

Perhaps Grandad can do it alone ???

It looks lovely when you are warm, dry and curled up indoors Nonu but I hate the commute to work, the school run and trudging around in it (especially when it turns slushy).

I like this weather. it demands nothing of you.

We had quite a bit of snow overnight in Cambridgeshire. Very pretty to wake up to and after a couple of hours of bright sunshine it's now very overcast and has just started to snow again. Had a houseful of visitors for lunch yesterday so I'm not feeling blue....more like knackered!

I can totally agree with that Nonu sitting at work dealing with all the rubbish that is thrown at us every Monday morning. Outside it is slushy, freezing cold and snowing. It's dark and lonely in my office (as I tend to be mostly alone) and yes, this is most definitely a Blue Monday

Beautiful, bright,cold and sunny winter day here. Snow forecast tonight and local paper panicing as usual!!!!! Stay in, do not venture forth, the big freeze is upon us. YES!!!!! Its winter, and we expect it. I have snow drops flowering outside, bulbs are poking their heads through already and the blackbirds are going loopy, all fighting each other at the moment!!!! Get through this cold snap, hopefully it will kill off all the b....y slugs. The evenings are pulling out at last. Im just looking on the positive side

Well it's snowing here Nonu and looks really pretty, and my old school friend is coming over from Penrith tonight for a meal, as it's her birthday tomorrow. We have been friends for 52 years, ever since she sat in the desk behind me on our first day at grammar school
I've made Granjura's cherry trifle for pudding and there's a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge so I'm feeling quite contented!
