Today has been labelled the most depressing of the year . ???

Suggestions for uplifting , are go for a walk which we do most days anyway , or SIT BY A WINDOW ??
To me it does not feel any different to any other day . You wonder where these things come from .

sunshine

There is no NHS in NZ, Mishap -my daughter has been paying $NZ50 per session, about £25.
I do walk very carefully on the hard packed snow and ice, as I have found it is dangerous to rely on my poles - even with rubber tips they tend to slip if I put weight on them. My boots have good treads on them, but I think I will buy some little chains to put over them. Bags recommended some to me and I am sure I will find them at Decathlon.

Aww shoot! we've got to do it again next monday hmm

j07 Mon 14-Jan-13 18:14:38

I've got a list. It's not helping.

In fact I think it is the same list as I had last week.

Lucky you Gally It snowed here until an hour or two ago, I bet it is going to freeze now so that it is like a skating rink.

Not a snowflake in sight today - blue skies and sun all day but very cold. Certainly a blue Monday here in the true sense! sunshine

Thanks for the sympathy greatnan - I am going stir-crazy here! At least the health system where your DD lives provides some physio - all I am able to do is sit about and a bit of hopping around! - this has been months now. I would not mind so much if I did not have one bad diagnosis made and getting the bum's rush every time you see a doc.

I have written a long list of questions for the clinic on Thursday and my DD3 is coming with me to clock the answers - 4 ears are better than 2! - and she is young and is more likely to remember everything that is said. I do not even know if I will see the consultant - but whoever I see will jolly well have to stay put till I have some answers. Last time it was 2 minutes (he was late for a meeting) and a misdiagnosis. Let us hope DD3 does not go into labour while we are there - but she would be in the right place anyway!

I think I need to be up in the beautiful mountains! - mind you I would probably slip on the ice - take care, mind how you go greatnan!!!!

Nelliemoser Mon 14-Jan-13 17:53:18

Not really. JO
It would help me feel better if I got off my backside and actually completed a few essential tasks though.
I need a list of what needs doing so I can tick things off, then they don't lurk at the back of my mind as things which need doing and I can then see the wood for the trees.

Must admit to feeling somewhat low today, but Mondays are usually not my best day as Mr P goes back after a weekend at home.

I have also just realised that I hadn't taken my tablets yesterday. confused

j07 Mon 14-Jan-13 17:28:24

Oh! You're bound to feel fine - living there!!! hmm (envy)

Greatnan Mon 14-Jan-13 17:24:40

Mishap, You have all my sympathy. my daughter broke her ankle badly about six weeks ago and is finding it very hard to cope with the fact that she still cannot walk very far and is often in pain. The ligaments were torn too, and she fears it may still be months before she is able to ride, cycle, hike or kayak. She is bitterly frustrated as she is normally very active with her large garden and volunteering at the Riding for the Disabled. She has been having physio twice a week and the therapist put some kind of tape on her leg which seemed to help. (It is ironic that my daughter was always warning me about the dangers of walking alone in the mountains.) Were you advised to try to keep using your ankle. rather than resting it?

I have had a very productive day. I had guests staying in my flat whilst I was in Manchester, so I had lots of bedding to wash. I took it to the laundrette in the next village, and whilst it was in the machine I went to the library and printed off some airline tickets, then to the supermarket and stocked up with food. When I got home, I ironed the bedding and remade the bed ready for any other visitors. I made a big pan of chicken broth which will last me at least two days, and had a bowl of it with a chunk of fresh bread. Needless to say, the snow here is white and fresh looking and the air is crisp. The views were lovely going down the valley - I never get over the beauty of the mountains, in all seasons, but there is something very special about them when they are covered in deep snow and the forests are silver.

j07 Mon 14-Jan-13 17:01:00

OR the sun might shine. And we will all positively whizz around!!! sunshine

j07 Mon 14-Jan-13 17:00:23

j07 Mon 14-Jan-13 16:59:36

And you think tomorrow is gonna be any better? hmm [sigh]

Nelliemoser Mon 14-Jan-13 16:46:49

So that is why I have felt unable to get anything done today. I have been faffing about like a blue arsed fly and getting nowhere.

No direction me! No motivation! Now't to look forward to; and we have eaten all the chocolate!

janthea Mon 14-Jan-13 14:26:52

I think if I looked out of my office window I would be more depressed. It's dark grey and wet. Horrid sad

crimson Mon 14-Jan-13 14:20:35

No Mishap. It means that they now know what the problem is and this time it's going to be sorted properly. Realised the other day that something very similar happened to a friend of a friend recently, a hairline fracture of [I think] a hip. Not picked up at the time. It's a bit worrying how often this seems to happen, isn't it.

Mishap Mon 14-Jan-13 13:48:29

Well it sure is blue here! - GP has just rung to say he has spoken to consultant on phone and the latest plan is to put my leg back in plaster!! - I have been off my feet now for 3.5 months and this just feels like going back to square one. I am in an airboot at the moment. I've had enough of it all today!

j07 Mon 14-Jan-13 13:47:20

Oh! I get it!!! smile

jeni Mon 14-Jan-13 13:39:13
