She starts off so many feel good topics and never says anything nasty. I always misread her name as cheerlu -it should be cheer you, a ray of sunshine.

Smoluski Wed 16-Jan-13 17:00:38

Thanks anno I have also got my eye on the main chance so I know what if anything I am entitled to when I become a fully fledged pensioner..grin

jeni Wed 16-Jan-13 17:35:17

Trouble is its time related. Did you appeal the WRAG? And do you think you should have been in the support group?

soop Wed 16-Jan-13 18:15:53

NellieSmol...the text message had me in stiches. All that mattered, is that you were enjoying yourself. grin

Smoluski Wed 16-Jan-13 18:31:51

jeni I didn't appeal as my anxiety and depression is the reason I am on it,what hope do I stand when people who have really bad physical problems like standing, walking etc,my problem occurs under pressure, tiredness, stress,in fact anything outside my daily norm,I would love to return to work but after loads of tears and a realisation today of my limitations I realise voluntary work is the best option for me as I am more in control and I am allowed to do this as a work placement with a view may be of paid employment at some point, xxxxxxx

soop we where playing that game where you put a sticker on another persons head and they have to guess who/what they are......he was hard pushed to find he was a dustbin liner grin the more the wine flowed the sillier the gamegrin

Smoluski Wed 16-Jan-13 18:34:38

jeni just realised am on income based ESA not the contribution based, was, originally on incapacity benefitxxxxx

jeni Wed 16-Jan-13 19:14:18

Oh! Go to CAB and see if in their opinion you should be in support group!

jeni Wed 16-Jan-13 19:15:44

Nelliemoser Thu 17-Jan-13 20:24:25

jeni nellieSmol On the World at One Radio 4. today, Micheal Meacher was criticising the way ATOS works. I don't know if you heard it or could get it on "listen again".

Smoluski Thu 17-Jan-13 20:26:59

Thanks nellie will try and find thatxxxx

jeni Thu 17-Jan-13 20:51:07

Ditto. The trouble is that after 365 days if you're on WRAG you only get income related rate. If you're in the support group, you get the full rate +. Trouble is , schedule 3 ie support group is very hard to get into and a lot of people do not even realise that there is more than one rate as DWP don't tell them. The first they know is when their money gets stopped or reduced!

ninny Fri 18-Jan-13 17:37:42

Cheelu flowers what a nice person you are. it's a shame a few other gransnetters aren't like you.

Movedalot Fri 18-Jan-13 17:48:41

ninny I think a lot are, its the few who are not grin I think that is probably what you meant isn't it?

jeni Fri 18-Jan-13 17:53:52

smoluski I thought that job searching was only if you're claiming jobseekers.
Have you looked at the schedule 3 rules? If you're in schedule3 you don't have to jump through these hoops. Alternatively, there is reg35 ie. the strain of WRAG activities could be detrimental to your health.
Some of the schedule 3 descriptors are for mental problems.
We saw one who had nil points on assessment but who we reckoned scored the magic 15 points and was schedule 3.
Fourty percent of appeals succeed!

gracesmum Fri 18-Jan-13 18:13:59

Hello Ninny, have we met before? - I think you'll find that most GNetters are lovable and, more important, loving, people and I am not sure what movedalot means by "others". I have had practical help, genuine compassion, moral support, many a good laugh and words of wisdom. What more could anybody want?

Smoluski Sat 19-Jan-13 21:16:59

jenihave just seen your last post, thank you, will google ,must admit I am finding the whole job seeking exercise very stressful,I have to take part in work related interviews,if I don't my ESA will sanctioned,I also have to take part in work related activities and courses to prepare for work.
Under older system I did obtain 15 points and was left alone ,it is affecting my health,xx

grannyactivist Sat 19-Jan-13 23:33:35

Ah, nelliesmol (hugs) What a tough time you are having.

Smoluski Sun 20-Jan-13 10:19:55

thanks ga won't let the buggers grind me down, realistically don't think I have a hope in hells chance of getting paid employment, all my skills are 10 years out of date, and a big employment gap to explain,it ain't gonna happen any time soon,I am pinning my hopes on the voluntary work,I have an interview next Friday 25th with Age uk to help older people with their benefit claims,I will be learning new skills and it may be a route to employment, that you can't learn in any classroom,I will be happier doing that as I am volunteering I have control over where when and how often I work, and training it's win win for me so best foot forward, only have until September 2015 then I can "retire" ,but I can carry on volunteering and they won't be on my back, when are your boys arriving, are you all organised and ready for them, like you my lovely OH much much younger than me is very hands on and supportive Would give his mum a huge hug and thanks for that if she where still alivexxxxxxliving to fight another day ,thanks for your ear think that is a good emoticon GNHQ have you got your listening ears ongrin nelliexxxxxx

Aww thanks ariadne good job I have got you lotxxxxxxxnellie
