Jingle I am definitely nearer your age, but I am surprised at how young some of the Grannies are.

You have just reminded me Gramps, today my father would have been 91 and my FIL 101 years old. I hope you have a Happy Birthday. wine cupcake

Hi Cheelu I am 51 too. Feel 25 some days and 100 on others! smile

jo7 I have come to the conclusion that age is not an issue. It depends how you feel in your mind. I have friends who are in their 20's or 30's and others in their 60's, 70's.

Happy birthday for tomorrow, gramps !! I'll leave an IOU in Lil's for you!

gramps Tue 15-Jan-13 23:42:56

Well ladies, I shall be 81 tomorrow, 16 January, but probably not the oldest of the members on here!
The only other Gents on here are probably a lot younger than me!

diva 50 is the new 30 grin

Divawithattitude Tue 15-Jan-13 23:07:40

Hunt Tue 15-Jan-13 22:55:23

Ariadne, sshhhhh! I'm a crossword addict. Also a part time conductor of a group of musicians-waving your arms about is supposed to be good for your heart, apparently.

glassortwo Tue 15-Jan-13 22:26:56

I think Cheelu may be among the youngest, but couldn't say for sure.

As to the oldest, I wouldn't have a clue!

I have two uncles, 88 and 84 respectively who are very comfortable using computers.

I do think this idea that all older people are uncomfortable with new technology fails to notice that the computer industry got going in the 1960s and many of my friends (early 70s) have been working with computers for over 50 years. DH, an engineer, first started using computers in the early 1960s. I started working with them in the late 1970s.

At home DH assembled the first kit version of the ZX80 in 1980 and we bought our first desktop pc in 1984, just before the Amstrad.appeared.

I am sure that many other Gransnetters have similar backgrounds.

Ariadne Tue 15-Jan-13 17:54:07

Please do, Hunt! I would honestly love to know! smile

Hunt Tue 15-Jan-13 17:50:46

Too true! Well ''spotty'' as my DGS used to say 20 years ago.( It was his version of my 'Well spotted'). Still quite computer literate, into texting, still singing in a choir, giving history based talks to W.I.s , playing the recorder-I could go on.....

annodomini Tue 15-Jan-13 16:58:13

What about Hunt and Printmiss - both 80+ I think.

Movedalot Tue 15-Jan-13 16:44:16

I was wondering about the oldest because we keep hearing that older people don't use computers. The oldest I know is my Dutch DiL's Opa who is 98.

Mishap Tue 15-Jan-13 15:56:20

And the youngest?

jeni Tue 15-Jan-13 15:53:38

*Maniac is more than 80

Movedalot Tue 15-Jan-13 15:41:31

Any advance on 80?

j07 Tue 15-Jan-13 15:30:57

PRINTMISS is eighty. And I think Maniac is too.
