I do, j07. I'm a bit tactile...but am very aware of when not to be, though!

I do on both cheeks.. have done for many years.

Oh sh-te! I ^know* it's expected but I can't do it. Would be alright if it was just the friend, but then the husband steps up............... [angst]

I don't like the practice. I only want to kiss or be kissed by my nearest and dearest...and it can be very awkward, with one party half-lunging towards the other, not sure of their reception

I do but I am very aware that some of my friends don't, so I don' impose my kisses on them! It's not always expected jingle so don't psyche yourself up to do it nobody minds. You could say you have a tummy bug or that you forgot to clean your teeth that morning they won't want to get too close then.

I have had to get used to two kisses (France) and three kisses (Switzerland) . It was strange at first, as I don't come from a family where much kissing and hugging went on. My sister and I have only started giving each other a hug (no kisses) after 70 years.

Jo7 I try to assess the feelings of the person I'm with.
On Monday my best friend from school came to stay and the following day we went out walking.
By obvious mutual consent there was no physical contact at any time, although we enjoyed each other's company very much.
But most of my other friends and acquaintances seem to do it.

Jo7 only do what YOU feel comfortable doing and don't worry about what is so called--expected..

You can always give it a try if this person is important to you and if it does not feel right then you can just not do it again...

We're a bit of a 'touchy-feely' family However, my grand-daughter might have blown an interview she had last week, when she stood up at the end of it, and gave a goodbye hug to the lady manager who had been part of the panel..... She hasn't had word yet whether she was successful!
