DD3's waters broke at 1am - she was 8cm when she last rang - so far just doing well on paracetamol. We are sitting by the phone waiting for it to ring!!

Warmest congratulations flowers and big hugs to you and your newest addition to the family. I can remember only too well the agony of waiting for DD to have both of hers - with DGS1 she went in mid afternoon and I didn't get "the" phone call until nearly 2 the next morning by which time I had imagined all things under the sun. DGS2 wasn't much better - I stayed with DGS1 whie DD and SIL wnt off to hospital around 6 ish and again I didn't get any news until after 1 the next morning. To be fair, she had had him before midnight but I think both of them (DD and SIL) needed time to rest. But if she has any more I shall demand a general anaesthetic (for me)!! grin So nice for you to have some good news you have a lot to cope with at the moment x

TwiceAsNice welcome. Three sets of twins in my family, and my little grandson is one of several born this week.

Mishap will be walking on air now flowers

Mishap Sat 02-Feb-13 20:22:43

Welcome Twiceasnice and lots of thanks for all the good wishes from everyone - I plan to go to bed now - I have expended a huge amount of emotional energy since 4 this morning and I want to be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed to meet little Rosie tomorrow.

I can now finish wrapping the lace shawl I have crocheted - it is wrapped in whte tissue and I have a blue ribbon and a pink ribbon to finish off the parcel - I just needed to wait and see which I should use!

I think my poor DD is going to be tired and sore and I hope we can be a support to her - though quite what practical help I will be on crutches I do not know - but I can certainly give her a cuddle!

Welcome to GN, TwiceAsNice. Yes, the little ones are wonderful no matter how many there are and how they get here. I have twin DGCs too, so fascinating smilesmile

Hi everyone I am a new member and so far have just been interested in what others have been saying. However felt I had to offer my congratulations on this lovely new grandchild. I remember how frantic I was 3 years ago when my gorgeous twin GD's were born. When I hadn't,t heard anything when I knew she should have had the babies (she was booked in for a caesarean) I could hardly contain myself I nearly wore a hole in the floor! I am so pleased for you Mishap I hope you get as much pleasure from your new addition as I most definitely get from mine.

Good news! Our new GD Rosie has been born! She weighed in at 7lbs 8oz. My DD got to the second stage on just paracetamol and then when things got a bit stuck she had some gas and air for a ventouse delivery. I am so proud of her.

We will wait (how!?) until tomorrow before going in as she needs as much sleep as she can get tonight.

I have been charging up the cameras!

I'm told she has lots of dark hair and is, of course, very beautiful.

Thank you all for keeping me passably sane today! I too am exhausted!

Granny23 Sat 02-Feb-13 19:22:15

When I could bear the suspense no longer I rang the hospital and was put through to the delivery suite. They would not tell me anything but told son-out-law I had rung and he called me within 5 minutes with an update. He had been ASLEEP in a chair shock while I had worn a groove in the floor.

NfkDumpling Sat 02-Feb-13 19:11:51

Pant, pant, pant - nearly there!

Faye Sat 02-Feb-13 19:08:15

It's times like these that we all hold our breath waiting to hear all is well, I hope it is soon Mishap. When I had waited all night not being able to sleep when D2 was giving birth, her baby was in the posterior position. I phoned the small country hospital at 4am. They wanted to know if I was psychic as my daughter had just then given birth. I was relieved as it had been a long night waiting to find out if she was okay.
