Sad really. It must be very hard for someone who has been beautiful and feted for that beauty to see how people may now just be being manipulative. She may believe these young men as she has doubtless been the object of desire for so many in the past. I don't really understand as the world of showbiz and celebrity is not mine and it does seem to warp people's self-perception.

I apologise for repeating what I have said on the Book Club thread, but wonder what you all feel about the current "stooshie" about Gina Lollobrigida and her lawywer/"husband" who claims to have married her by proxy, an agreement she is now denying all knowledge of (bad grammar).
Is she losing the plot - she is 85?
Is he just after her money? (he- 51, she 85 and even with a good wig, a bit raddled) hmm
Now she is photographed with her new "lover" of 25!! Very hmm
I wonder what his motivation is?
Bottom line to me is that despite the luxuriant wighair, the lippy and the face lift- she is the epitome of the maxim that "there is no fool like an old fool"
