Haven"t noticed many names from Saga here , so perhaps they have found somewhere else to go !

Well, if you used the same name as you're doing on here, perhaps you shouldn't have been surprised!

I used the saga forum for a short while. I kept getting messages from very old pervy guys wanting to rush over to meet me. It seemed to me they would try it on with any woman who was very near to them who was younger than them. One told me he was a church elder and happily married but had to meet me in secet as his wife would not understand!!
You get nastiness on all sites. The truth is that saga did not want to spend a lot of time on running the site as it was not profitable and it was very time consuming and running at a loss. I know because I have run friendship clubs, websites and worked in marketing and advertising for a long time.. They want to plough their efforts in their paid for dating site, insurance etc.

I have tried my best to try and convince those on saga zone that this is probably the best option as Gransnet will continue where the zone left off.
But there are many who have chosen much slower and amateur sites run by ex saga zoners who have not got finance to run a website.

Also a lot of ex saggy's have moved to Buzz50 where a warm welcome was given to all

Saga-Zone - the only forum I have ever left, taking my bat and my ball home with me... they didn't like my avatar - the Robinson's Golly, and wanted me to take it down - so I decamped.

It was ever so full of "spiritual" folks, and believers in all sorts of woo-woo nonsense - astrology and so on - so it was no great loss. I'm sorry it's crumbled though - things must have got well out of hand.

I am still on saga zone until its finsish its OK for sending messages thats all, have recommended this site to some who may come across, did try the fiftyplus but its not great.
This site is equal to what the Saga Zone was.

I think Saga have behaved abominably and I won't read their scummy magazine at the doctor's any more - so there!

It seems to be doubly abominable – banning members and closing the site and then publicising the reason as being trolls or members posting racist and homophobic comments – without any supporting evidence, so far as I understand.

Good thing GNHQ is too busy with and to bother about what we are all up to.

A very warm welcome. I think Saga has behaved abominably and I am sure the bad publicity will do them a lot of harm.
